Hi Artha - sorry to hear about your foot, what are your symptoms. I've had a swollen foot and pain for a couple of weeks, went to the doctor last week who said it was a mystery and to take anti-inflamatories and go back this week if it is no better (which it isn't). Friends have suggested it could be a hairline fracture.

Not sure how it has happened but I did twist my ankle a little when hill walking a couple of months ago. No more than occasional twinge until 3 weeks ago when the top of my foot started getting very sore whilst walking around Tesco. Went home and rested but it swelled up like a balloon. Used ice, compression bandage and complete rest for a few days and it improved no end. Since then however, even with not much activity, it just gets more and more painful during the day. Overnight it goes back to fairly normal but the process then starts again so I've been fairly immobile for a few weeks so thought it was time to go to the docs. Doc thinks it looks like a classic fell walkers injury and may be a hairline fracture, hence the xray. Whatever the outcome of that, the doc advises 4-6 weeks of rest with gentle foot exercises to allow healing so no pounding the aisles of Tesco for me:rotfl:

AS you seemed to go down with it at a similar time do you think it was a bout of Tescoitis doing the rounds?:rotfl:

I've done the same Bookworm - they showed on mysupermarket too. Have put the receipt in pricechecker, and am sitting here hoping. Do they price check receipts with just one item on? Hope so. Let me know if yours do!

Yes, I did the Guylian chocs before Xmas with just one item so it's no problem.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a pricecheck voucher later ;)

  • Afternoon all

Sorry I'm late with my WHS report but I've been out all morning and just got back.

I went to the large store again down here (the one with the trouty manageress!!!) and could not believe it when I found it was still working!

So spent about 3/4 hour in there and did another 10 transactions.

I did them all separately because I'm not brave enough to present the SA with numerous ones! Also they only had one SA on duty and I didn't want to hold the queque up so just kept going round really fast!! I think she was sick of the sight of me by the time I'd finished!

I figured out where the cheapest cards were and just kept getting those all the time - they were £1.40 and had code EE on the back. Couldn't find any cheaper than this in the store.

So, having spent approx 2 hours? altogether yesterday and today I now have 23 greetings cards (approx value £32.20 using £1.40 as a base price) and £90!!!!!! on giftcards. Roll on next Christmas!!

Well done!!! If you are meaning to save your giftcards to use at Christmas, I'm not sure that I would want to do that in the current economic climate - you never know who will go out of business next

Well done everyone on getting the WHS cards shame some of you not having any luck or getting stopped.

Can you buy giftcards on shelf service tills as my local has a row of these now. Just thought it might make things a little easier if I picked a busy time. ;)

I don't think so as the SA has to scan a code into the till which takes off the £5 so that you only pay £10 for the giftcard. I went through the tills separately for all my 23 transactions!! Because I'm a big wuss!

Yes, good point! I shall have to keep popping in to see what special offers they have and try to use them during the year!

    Thanks!

Today has been one of the worst days ever.... FIL has been given his results from when he had his op to remove the cancer and sort out his bowel. He has to start having chemo in 12 weeks as he has to wait so he has recovered from his op. He has about 50/60% chance of 5-6 years left.

Im off now to cancel the wedding as OH has gone up the hospital. I am devastated.
