No, I just kept doing the same transaction - I tried to pick the £1.75 cards - couldn't see any cheaper in our shop - and just pay using the giftcards. I think I might have slipped up once or twice and picked a £1.99 card by mistake, but just keep doing it and it does work! and stand your ground if trouted because there is nothing in their rules that say you can't buy giftcards with giftcards!
