You can't make someone love you. All you can do is
stalk them & hope they panic & give in

Yep sound advice. Calling HO is what got me on the Radar, the managers there have had it in for me ever since. I really wouldn't care usually, they can follow me all they want, I don't look for DTD's in this store (local).

The Valentines meal I was o/c on the other day was in a different store, I let it drop and accepted a refund. Was £8 over so £16 DTD, just wasn't worth annoying the managers over small numbers.

In this case though they went overboard. A third DTD in three months (all denied anyway) doesn't warrant their reaction.. But the store itself has a bad rep with the other MSE guys, well known for refusing DTD's. I'll wait for CS response, but thanks for the advise in the post previous to this, I'll be including a few things more in the e-mail to them :)

Well people the world over react to people. We have SA's who we like and others we class as 'trouts'.

One can only imagine what those same staff think of us. I'm sure someone who earns £40 for a whole shift doesn't appreciate the same faces walking in getting bags of shopping for nothing (when they in theory are not even allowed first divi at the whoopsies) or getting huge electrical bargains for nothing.

How would we feel or react if the rolls were reversed? I'm sure many of us would make it ruddy hard for people to do what we do, I know I would! :rotfl:

I think putting ourselves into their position is a good way of being able to do what we do with fewer problems. It's what I try to do. I will NEVER kick it off at one of my local stores and the HO call recently was at a store I go in maybe 3 or 4 times a year so I didn't mind. I seriously wouldn't want a store manager chasing me down as there can only be one winner in that battle as he has final say as to whether I get served in his store or not. :)

They are websites for recycling unwanted items. You sign up for your local area and then can view all the items people no longer want. All free - no one is allowed to charge. Idea is to keep things out of landfill.

Totally ot but I know you are the people to ask.

Has anyone here been to calais and know where to get cheap booze? We went last summer but couldn't find the place to go so to speak. We were told to go to eastenders or the tesco but couldn't find them I looked online but I think they have been closed.
We are going again now at Easter.

It is a real shame Tesco Calais closed however we were recommended to seek out Majestic. (Details below). It is tucked away but do try to find it, the prices are really cheap, sign up and they send you regular details, all good wines, New Zealand/Oz etc all recognisable and when you get there loads and loads of bottles are open for you to taste, they do excellent deals for wedding wine and bubbly too. Good hunting. Auchan and Carrefour fine too but more expensive on named Oz/NZ wines. Great if you know which French wines you like or you need to buy lots of bottles and try during your holiday then go back and buy before you come home.

  • Popped into my local Extra today. Went to grab a basket and saw a lovely long receipt sitting tantalisingly quite a few baskets down. Hastily dug around to remove the baskets on top and swiped the receipt and stuffed it into my pocket feeling really pleased with myself.

Got home and went to put the details into the price check and found that the bloomin' receipt was from and Express store (which don't compare for price match purposes) - and there isn't an Express within about 5 miles of the Extra store.

Bet the blinkin' CS assistants saw me coming and planted it there.:D

Oh how they and the security guards must have laughed...:rotfl:
