So poor I can't even pay attention

Ooh, I love the sound of yesterday. I've never tried getting free moisturiser samples but it sounds like the sort of thing I should try. Do you just march up and ask for a sample, or do you pretend to need assistance, then appear undecided? I did manage to score a sample cherry vodka/fancy chocolate combo in Harvey Nicks a few weeks ago. I only went in for a wee (I like a posh loo) and this very smart looking chap invited me to try them. Very nice too but I didn't even bother asking the price!
Love the Bear, he appears to have life sorted x
I used to spoil myself a lot with expensive moisturisers and other such treats, my credit card still bears the brunt of it!
The best counters to get a sample easily from are the ones promoting a new product. Normally all you have to do is express an interest have a bit smeared on your hand, admire it but say you'd like to try it first as you don't want to spend £70 on something that disagrees with you.
Alternatively, sometimes I go to the counter [I did this at S*ssley, La Pr*irie and K*ihls ] and say my current product isn't working anymore what do they recommend.
It takes a while, but I find it good fun. Most of the samples are very generous indeed. I haven't needed to buy moisturiser for at least two years! I also cut the tops off the little tubes when they seem empty and get every little bit out!

Waving to Maty :hello:
I've put quite a bit on e*bay, the more expensive stuff. I now feel I used the free listings well. I may see if there's a few more bits lurking around the house to list later today.
I've got eight items to post tomorrowbut they did bring me in £80.00
so I'm not complaining [too much]
It's raining which means the Captain and I probably won't be going out hacking, he dislikes the rain even more than me and spends most of a hack in the woods trying to shelter under trees. All well and good provided the branches are higher than his head! He's nearly decapitated me on several occasions from running to low-hanging foliage...
Apart from updating finances and packing parcels I don't plan to do much of anything else today, just take it easy.
Now I'm off to catch up on diaries, though I've noticed it's been very quiet over Easter on here.

Well done on listing on eBay. I am always meaning to, but it seems like too much work! Mind you, £80 is a very good insentive, so you must be pleased with that!
Have a lovely relaxing day, catch up soon!

Also, just to echoe your top tip re the moisturisers. I pre LBM time used to use Estee £auder Advanced Night Repair, but as I can no longer afford ( actually , I probably never could !!) i have been seen lurking around the Yves St £aurent counters in various establishments recently begging for tester of their new serum thats been getting rave reviews recently. I have a lovely sample stash in the drawer that will keep me going for the next few weeks at least !
I hope you have had a lovely Easter.

I composed a fairly long diary entry early this morning and it disappeared....very irritating....
I'll see if I can remember the gist of it.
On my weekly to do list I'm going to look into publishing the Captain stories/book. On the 'up your income' board there's a thread about it and a couple of people have submitted three chapters and been given a date to submit the rest with a view to a decision about publishing.
I've packed and posted six e*bay parcels, the postage was a lot less than I was expecting which was a nice surprise, I'm in pocket there! I'm still waiting for four people to pay for items they've won. One is a week over now, I'm about to send a gentle reminder.
Sorting out some bits and pieces for a friend I'm meeting later today with a view to putting some oomph into my LinkedIn page, very excited about seeing her!
My DD has offered to design and create me my own website if I tell her what I want. As she is an award winning designer, it's a good opportunity to take up if I knew what to do with it....I've been wanting to write a proper blog for ages, but again, I don't know where to point myself. Any ideas gladly and gratefully received...

I've sold 30 books on Zapper. They provide a free courier service to pick up the books, only down side is I'm stuck here as the pick up is any time between 8am and 6pm. I've arranged a babysitter for the Captain, fairly sure he won't miss me anyway as he'll be stuffed full of carrots by an admiring little girl...
I've a couple of jobs bookmarked to apply for this morning and I will be doing those shortly, and no, neither of them involve sheep!
An e*bay parcel to post [after the books have been collected] I still have three items that haven't been posted. One of them is over a week old and despite two reminders I haven't had a response. I think I'm going to have to report it to e*bay to get my fees refunded and be able to list it again. The woman will get a strike against her and will hate me, but what else can I do?
Had the most wonderful evening with a friend last night, I'm still smiling and feeling great because of it.
Cleaned the bathroom, towels in the wash, yet to change the bed. Kitchen cleaned and a meal plan and shopping list put together, the cupboards are truly bare!
Be back later
