  • Hey lovely girl
Nothing much to add just had a chuckle all the way through.

Especially at the 'she's a keeper' bit - you know how I feel about vets but she does sound lovely :)

    And Colin clearly approves.

  • Hi Piq
Just popping in to wish you all the very best with the move and everything else.
It's great news to hear your daughter will be home soon, I know exactly how it feels to have a DD living so far away, mine lives in NZ and fingers crossed I will get to visit next year.
It is good to know you will have lot's of help with the move as it is hard work, but will be worth it in the end.
    Take care.

My diary has a life of its own :rotfl:It is busier than a busy thing!

Of course I will, just got to decide which title to go with, quite taken with robin's flippant suggestion. I'd really like a more upbeat title this time.
Robin's title certainly has a ring to it :D

Am sure Piq would welcome an improvement to the humour, so please feel free Ladies.. ;)

GP you are great, thank you! Funnily enough, methodical is not one of the words ever used by people to describe me, can't think why :rotfl:

oooh, anyone else seeing 'methodical-ness' breaking out and 'organisational-ness' occurring around here

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So glad to hear all this good news Piq. Plus is it this week your DD is back? Anyway, hope the visit to the cottage today is great - and looking forward to the new diary of adventures.

Hope you have better luck tracking down conveyancing solicitors that actually want to work, for a fair price, and at a good pace. :D

Gottodothis - I feel your pain. A few years ago I fell down 3 (yes only 3) steps at work, managed to do a bit of a job on my left ankle. No other injuries at all. Did it 2 days before Christmas Day too... 2 ops, 6 weeks non weight-bearing, followed by learning how to walk again, which included 12 months of physio.

And the very worse part of it all - I can no longer wear high heels!

How on earth you are coping with a little one I cannot imagine, but I'm sure if nothing else, this diary will keep you entertained and amused!

    (sorry for the mini-hi-jack)

I fell about three of the stairs too...embarassing! First day of summer hols too. Amusing kids and have builders in here too.

Hence why i am reading these diaries.

Well in the six weeks so far toddler has learnt how to count, play snap and with the help of a puzzle spell some words. When she attends nursery next week they will think she is exceptionally bright!

    Sorry also for mini hijack!

A really quick rush in and then straight back out again. Things are just moving too fast and I'm feeling a little stressed. I'm going to take the laptop to work to see if I can connect to t'interweb from there. If you hear nothing I can't!

Must set up new diary, this one is approaching the magical figure of 5000. Still haven't found a solicitor, have double booked myself all over the place and now I must get ready for work.

    Sorry, real manic rushed post!

Gally - can the online solicitors get things done quickly? The buyers want my house asap and although it would be nice if things were a little slower, financially it would help not having to find extra months worth of money.

Any tweaking of robin's suggestion for a title need to be aired now :rotfl: As the new diary will be going live soon!

    and breathe...
Personally,I wouldn't use an online conveyancer as they will be hard to get hold of and time seems to be of the essence...
Grab a cuppa and a phone directory and ring around or go on internet and look up conveyancers in yor area and work from there....
think everything will fall in to place once you've set that ball rolling instead of trying to do loads of stuff all at once

    ..Keep breathing!

Might be worth asking on MSE house buying/selling/renting forum; give general area and see if anyone can recommend a conveyancer? ;)

Oooh look I can get on 'tinterweb at work, mind you it's not wifi or any thing sophisticated, more like two elastic bands and a staple....

Turns out my Mum and Dad live opposite a conveyancing solicitor, I only knew him as the barman at my Dad's 80th party! Mum's had a word and I've dropped him an email, let's see what sort of quote he comes back with.

The cottage is small, really small and needs a lot of TLC. Not to mention washing machine plumbing and a complete garden makeover, think ruts and tree stumps. It is doable and will be a project to carry me over the winter.

I'm trying to breathe really I am, just a little panicked, so much to do!
