Morning Piq, so pleased you are in demand! Yes I get the more days fewer hours. You may find that with regular exercise and time your back becomes stronger anyway! Little and often is the key apparently (note I do not practice what I preach or even hear on a regular basis, but I am sitting here creased up in pain as I haven't been doing my usual regime and I am suffering as a result of this)
Long may this continue. I know out laying of money is a bad thing, but perhaps you can consider a little savings pot for light weight water proofs for (the rest of the UK summer) when the wet weather starts so you can continue work outside without getting cold, damp and fed up?
Well done you!Start info Dec11

Thanks missrir, the advice on waterproofs is good, especially looking at the weather today
It's a coffee shop day, so the weather doesn't matter too much today.
I gardened for money on Saturday, doing plenty of weeding as per usual. There was a gentleman doing his garden opposite and he was very chatty which was nice. He seemed to think I was a real gardener and knew everything, luckily I knew enough until he bought his bonsai out.....
Even so, he was over every five minutes, so I perfected the art of weeding and chattingHe even gave me a horseradish root :j
It was not until I was walking back to the car with my trug of tools that I realised my shirt had come unbuttoned and I was displaying a very generous amount of cleavage :rotfl::rotfl:
I managed to finish another couple of bee pots, not as much work done on pots as I had hoped. I'm going to give one of them, filled with bee friendly plants, to the lady who has recommended me to most of my clients. I'm hoping she puts it at the front of her house and perhaps it will generate a little interest and a sale or two. This makes me feel very calculating, but if it works it may make money into the winter. And that's what it's supposed to be about
Because I worked Saturday and did my own garden on Sunday I haven't done anything on the housework or paperwork front. If I'm honest, I wouldn't have done the paperwork anyway - hate it!
Colin's new friend is still hanging around. Still cant get anywhere near it. I asked at the Cats Protection and they offered me the loan of a cat trap for £25  I'm going to leave it for a while and see if I can win it's trust by leaving some food each morning. As summer is coming [hopefully] it won't freeze to death overnight. And yes, I do feed it whilst Colin is indoors :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

G'Day Piq
I've been reading but not had that much time to say anything all systems are go at the moment.
Really am so very happy to read about the business taking off and you 'sound' so much happier as well. Also the more days less hours thing I completely understand.
Anyways just wanted to say I'm still here and still reading and will pipe up if I've got anything interesting to say or if husbandpet tries to poison me again :rotfl:.

I am sooo pleased the gardening has taken off for you! And the pots look wonderful too. Could you get them into any local shops on commission?
Shocking that CPL charge you £25 for the privilege of borrowing a cat trap. I'm surprised as I wouldn't have thought they would entrust a trap to member of the public in case they didn't check it regularly. Hopefully some TLC and a supply of biscuits will help the stray to get accustomed to you. Maybe a wooden/cardboard box in some sheltered spot for it to sleep in would help too?
Your Colin stories remind me of some books by Deric Longden, particularly The Cat Who Came in From the Cold. Cats with personalities. I think you might enjoy it."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I have a cat trap if you want to borrow it - cost £24.99:rotfl:
No seriously if you need a trap you can borrow it but what do you intend to do with the cat if you catch it?
By co-incidence I am reading the Derek Longden books now - I used to sell on Amazon and when I collected a load from a charity shop loads of his books were in there - I am going to try Amazon for the missing ones.
I have to say that it does sound suspiciously like Colin - maybe has read the books!!0 -

Soft touch here I'm afraid. Not that there's any hope of catching it at the moment :rotfl:debtfreewannabe321 wrote: »I wonder if he will be hiring your services soon....perhaps he thinks a peek at the cleavage each time is included :rotfl::rotfl: (perhaps that is the way forward in fact ...)

I'm not that sure that the pots are good enough to sell that way. I don't have the front [apart from when my buttons come undone :rotfl:] to walk into a shop or garden centre with one I'm afraid.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
