Have you heard of Collect+ and/or My Hermes? You basically drop your parcels off at corner shops/garages (not random ones, ones that are part of the scheme
) so no need to wait in. A parcel up to 1kg costs £3 to send with MyHermes, up to 2kg is £3.90. With Collect+ 0-2kg costs £3.99 to send , worth seeing if you have one nearby

I hadn't heard of either of them, thanks for the links. One of the shops is about four miles away from me, according to the site. I will investigate it over the weekend as I'm not sure exactly where it is.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Aww shucks thank you lovely.
I would love a Virgo pot with either Aster or Morning Glory especially purple flowers. I'm ashamed to admit that I had to google the images of both flowers as I've never seen them before lol.
If you wish to experiment send me a pm and I'll send you the money for it.

I can do you a purple aster pot, no problem. I could use you to try out the couriers that rileys dog gave me links for.Skint_but_Optimistic wrote: »Im going to try and make my own bee houses with some bamboo. There's nothing wrong with a bee house or shack, I'm sure they'd be very grateful for either this morning, it's pouring with rain! Loving the other suggestions for names!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Well I didn't post last night I was soooo tired! A couple of hours of heavy digging and I was done for:rotfl:It rained, it hailed, it rained, then the sun came out, then it rained! Such fun....
I gave my lady who introduced me to most of my clients a bee pot filled with deep red osteospernums. She seemed to like it and it turns out she knows someone who grows and sells plants ...
I spent a while chatting to my blind lady client after doing her garden. She's well into her nineties and as sharp as a button. She was telling me how she was evacuated to Somerset during the war and stayed there for six years. Can you imagine what that must have been like? Away from your parents all that time? What must it have been like for the parents too? Six years is a very long time for a child. It must have been so hard to adjust to, both leaving and coming back.
I did clear a bit of paperwork when I got home, not sure how that came about :rotfl:I've only got a couple more things to do on the to-do pile, perhaps I shall do them tonight or perhaps I may not :rotfl: That will depend on the glass of wine I'm due...
Today brings a long day at the coffee shop, it will be packed as it is rainingDid I mention that I was chatting to one of the older customers and he used to perform in the West End, leading in such musicals as Oklahoma and Carousel, he's a fully trained opera singer. People are fascinating when you get to talk to them

:j Will pm you my details. You've put a big smile on my face.
Hope everything else is going alright and you're not too shattered after your Pr£t day but how wonderful to meet so many amazing characters. I have to admit that I wouldn't have the patience to deal with people face to face, over the phone can be hard enough :rotfl:.

*delurk* Only really have time to lurk these days..........
I use the old stems from my fennel ,lovage and angelica plants - cut them down at end of summer an dry out in green house. Cut to 25-30cm inch lengths then bundle up so they make a bundle about 10cm in diameter and tie up with garden twine in 2/3 places then put into crevices in walls and in trees and shrubs - I have a lot a bees in my garden but dont know if its all down to these little bee shelters but I have seen bees using them. My class of 5 year olds like making them too and we put them in pour little garden at school - head hates them - quotes H&S to me very time.............just makes me want to do moreBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

It has to be said - I really enjoyed summer this year, all two days of it.... I am currently huddled under the throw again and yes, there is a cat spread-eagled across most of it
It poured with rain all day yesterday meaning I didn't get any of my gardening jobs done. I've booked to do them Saturday instead. Hopefully, the weather lets up to allow me to do tomorrow's jobs. I have trays of bizzy lizzies for one elderly lady and scented pinks for my blind lady to plant up. Plus masses of geraniums for another client. I might ask Santa for a supple back for Christmas this year...
My own garden is coming into flower and I have planted up a few tubs of various scented plants in amongst some astonishingly dramatic black petunias, purple daisies and pale lemon geraniums.
I've also stuck one of my geckos to a piece of broken pottery and put him out amid the flowers, he looks really good. I will post a picture when the sun comes out. I might try and sell a few if you think it a good idea.
What else? I've finally finished a pot for a special lady who wanted a lily pot. It took me three attempts before I got it looking right, just hope she likes it too, very worrying!
Still doing my servitude at the coffee shop. A lot of bad feeling there. I find it fairly easy to work through as it is so busy, but I am aware of it. Luckily because I'm not paid much I work hard and leave it behind as I leave the shop. I'm not paid enough to care I'm afraid
Finally come to the end of my mobile contract and got myself down to an £11 a month tariff from around £34 :T. Basically, I didn't upgrade the phone, it's fine, it makes and takes calls, texts and takes photos. I don't ask much more than thatTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
