What a glorious day it was yesterday, the sun shone all day and I managed to get burnt gardening for my old gentleman - oops, must remember sun block when doing gardening job!
This morning when I pulled back the curtains tubs of pale yellow tulips greeted me. They were only in bud yesterday, but today they are perfection. I've just rushed out and taken a photo, if I remember I'll upload it later.
The violet gift was well received and is now happily nestling in a corner. Whilst weeding I found some feverfew that had self-seeded from somewhere, it is now in my herb garden (permission asked first:D] Unfortunately, it's not large enough to deal with the headache I currently have so I've taken some good old fashioned painkillers. It needs to go as I'm back at the coffee shop today, the one where illness is not allowed or ignored! And yes, it is strange that you can have germs yet are allowed near food. Mine is not reason why. Mine is the money.
This month for the first time in a while I have scraped by moneywise. Not really, I suppose as I still have the mortgage insurance coming in without which I would be up a certain creek without a paddle and with a hole in the bottom of the boat.
Tomorrow I'm going to get a few more cards out and about. The wife of my elderly gentlemen is going to put some up in Sainsbugs for me. Tonight's job is to print them off! I'm going to use the money I've earned gardening to pay for the card placement, not money out the current account. I've even set up a spreadsheet to track costs.
Lastly, I've painted a rainbow on a pot. It looks okay, just a few clouds to add and subtle shimmer then it's finished.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Yesterday was beautiful wasn't it ? I'm glad your Gardening Gentleman enjoyed his gift of Violets. I think that's a really lovely thoughtful thing to do for him.

Hi Piq, errrr what's this thing called "sun", never seen it !!!.
Hope the headache soon disapears and look forward to the pics.0 -
Not every foodie employer is like Pret's but it's rather put me off eating there. So, someone with norovirus has to turn in and leave the bugs on door handles for those working in the kitchen to pick up, though (hopefully!) they would be sent home.
Hope you feel better Piq and the silence is you catching up with rest, as much as it is gardening work.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
My word piq, you are a soldier, to work for deranged crazies is the pits, but then again its the mulla whats the ruler. According to the street people.
I need to see pics of pots, my mother in law has a mediterranean themed terrace and shes wanting to perk it up, and I will need some gifts, all ideas most welcome.
By the way, the gentleman and his lady sound wonderful.Trying to shift that debt!0
