Also I'm finding it hard to come to terms with this new me that can't be bothered, I'm always tired and, please don't shy away, but even having a shower seems too much sometimes [I always make myself, you'll be pleased to hear, but sometimes I can't be bothered
] If I didn't drive myself on I would either stay in bed or stagnate in front of the television.:j
This is exactly how I feel when I'm not getting enough thyroxine or when I forget to take a tablet. Get to the doctors Piq - that's an order!

Sorry you've been feeling so down lately Piquant
I've had an idea, it may be a stupid one but thought it was worth mentioning at least...
I found your diary a few months ago and read it from the first page to the end in a several hour stint, if it was a book I just wouldn't have been able to put it down! The whole diary shows you in a very flattering light - warts and all - it reflects the person you are and showcases your intelligence, drive and humour. You are very captivating and as I got towards the end I was hoping beyond hope that you would have found that job you so deserve by the end.
Now here's the crazy part (and it may be suicide in your cut throat industry) but how about throwing your cards in the air and sending this link to as many companies as you can think of. There are so many Piq-fans on here who would give you a job in a heartbeat and all it would take is one person in 'real world' to feel the same. There, I said it!
Edit to add: It mightn't even be suicide as if they ignore it and don't read/contact you then they'll never know who you are if you ever applied for a job with them in future.0 -
glad your meds have been upped and you are no longer aching.
Could you make stuff and sell it from your front garden maybe?0 -
Hiya Piq,
I am glad you have come back. There are loads of jobs in there, one even says taking care of horses! I bet if you got that one you could bring Captain.

Loving my kitty cat

Piq I was babysitting tonight and immediately I got home I logged on to see if there were any more posts to see how you were! My goodness - so many personal replies you wrote which is lovely, and it is reassuring to hear you are looking into some of the ideas folks have mentioned. I had tears as well while reading them. Well done and so pleased the aches and pains are not so bad tonight.
I bought some cat food today for my not-fat-but-big-boned-extra-tall-cat. He is sensitive to people saying he is fat. I bought a different brand - on the usual one it is written in small letters 'light' cat biscuits. On this one it screams across the front 'FOR OVERWEIGHT CATS'. I've had to turn the writing away from him or else he will be quite offended.
He has very long whiskers - did you know that cat's whiskers grow to size to show the cat whether he can get through a gap or not. Do you think if he loses weight his whiskers will shrink?!

I bought some poached egg plant seeds.
Unfortunately, you can't eat them. :rotfl:

Wow Piq, you have some truly lovely on-line friends
. I hope some of the suggestions work out for you x
Your children sound wonderful too, so I wondered if they realise how tight things are for you at the moment or whether you're putting a brave face on for their benefit? If so, why don't you have a chat to them? I know if it was MY mum who was struggling I would want to know so that I could try to help. Maybe not financially (I don't know their circumstances obviously) but by supporting you emotionally through all this.
I know I'm at the other end of the country and financially no better off than you are, but what I DO have in abundance is fields full of lovely, free grass. If the Captain needs a bit of free keep while you get on your feet we can always find room for a little 'un!

Thank you my multi-gg'd friend. Proof reading is always much appreciated. I apply for about ten jobs a week, many of which I either have no interest in or experience
I am out of touch with what I am qualified in now and it's hard to learn off the job.
I hate those forms, completely random questions...
They are so dreary! It took me two days to complete the one for the job I eventually got, so I guess it was worth it, but I had to reward myself with chocolate every time I finished a question! Or maybe it was just an excuse to eat chocolate, idk...
Apologies for blaming the wrong pet for your sore foot. Oops! :rotfl:I'm a Money and Debt Adviser for a homelessness and housing charity in Scotland. If you have any questions about debt management and debt relief under Scots Law, just ask.The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow.0
