How did it get to be Sunday so quickly? Where did my weekend go?

I am trying to organise myself better, I've got very lax over the Christmas holidays and need to set myself some rules. I am going to do a daily 1-2-3-4-5 routine

    This breaks down to:

    1 x item to declutter
    2 x admin tasks
    3 x non daily chores
    4 x animal tasks
    5 x daily chores

Yesterday, once I had returned from the yard at 4:00pm I showered and then sat on the sofa until bedtime, complete waste of time. I knew I had things to do but just couldn't get any enthusiasm or motivation to do anything except eat cake. This will not do!

I'm very much a creature of habit and once I get into a routine I tend to stick to it.

Today I have decluttered five books which I will be taking to Oxfam tomorrow, they won't sell so I'd rather give them away.

I've done my filing and applied for a job - two admin tasks.

The three non-daily chores boil down to 15 minutes weeding, vacuuming the downstairs and cleaning the bathroom.

Four animal tasks include riding the Captain, mucking out his stable and tidying his tack-room. Colin got groomed, he hated it and attacked the brush!

The five or more daily chores must include making my bed, wiping down the sides in the kitchen, tidying the throw and cushions on the sofa at bedtime, washing up and cleaning the toilets and basins/sinks.

I'm not going to bore everyone by listing things everyday, but I am going to get on with it. It'll clear my head and ultimately give me more time to waste on other things...

Indeed, you'll notice that granny is keeping very quiet about it, she must have dropped her 'r' already...

I know exactly what you mean about being a creature of habit. I have investigated the gym schedule and put the classes I can do each week and enjoy in the diary. Now all I have to do is remember to book them. Getting back into the routine of housework and jobs this week too. Bins tomorrow.
Same for food which I am struggling with getting my head around at the moment re-educating my stomach!
Doglet just presented me with his bone to hold, need to make sure I spend time with him too!

    Happy New Year Piq,

I've just caught up with you since before Christmas. Wow to the running vault. I had imagined some dapper hunt member gallantly offering his cupped hands as a make-shift mounting block. But no, running vault! Is that like an airborne splits? Do you do yoga? Please tell me the secret of your suppleness! Did your trousers remain intact? If I tried that, (in my dreams), I'd embarrass myself with indecent exposure, or rather undergarments on display .

Good things to you for 2013.

snorting with laughter at the thought of me being supple or doing yoga...:rotfl: It was a needs must situation, no thinking involved, a grab the mane whilst running and jump sort of thing! It felt like I had done the splits for days afterwards, does that count? Trousers intact, breeches are designed for such acrobatics...

[colin does cat yoga, he is currently in cat yoga position three, back leg in the air, head up bottom]
