About your cover letter, I don't mind having a look over it if that would help?
Thank you SF, that's so kind of you. I'll get back to it shortly, in another post as I'm going to apply for a job out of my remit, but have the skills. I'll dedicate a separate post for ideas and help.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hi P,
just catching up - was away last week and then catching up this week.
The fairy light sounds wonderful. Sounds like Colin is settling in nicely and finding his own toys and entertainment.
Weather has been awful - had the girls in twice this week. The little TB is more than ready to come in at night now and old chap is in at night now anyway. I am dreading the early starts again.
Do you have a Royal Mail depot near you? I have done many a Christmas Stint in evenings with the Royal Mail. Sometimes they start recruiting a few early so that they have some experienced ones on hand over the busy period. If you can then put your name down for Sundays - they money is better.hey piq hope things are going well. I echo about the Royal Mail Christmas Temps. They will be hiring now I would think.

Colin is settling in and creating mayhem. I think I shall give him his own post later....
The Captain has been cold and shivering I have had to up his rug already. I'm sure he'd like a snuggle with your girls, that would warm him up! He's very woolly indeed and needs a clip, was supposed to happen last week but the girl hasn't been well.
I'll have a look on the Royal Mail site this morning. I have a list of things to do. As it's raining heavily the garden is out of the question, a bit of housework and job searching is the order of the morning. Then a four hour stint at Pr*t!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Here I am!
I was very tired over the weekend and indulged in a red wine and chilli chocolate extravaganza*and how good is that for the weight loss programme?* I haven't had a drink for a while so the red wine hit me quite hard
Thought it best not to post whilst under the influence....
Somehow I've managed to bruise my knuckle, it's very sore and swollen and no, I haven't hit anyone. It's meant typing was out the question for an evening.
So there are my excuses for absence. Hope they're acceptable. I'd promise not to do it again, but I don't make promises I can't keep and there is still an open box of wine on the side in the kitchen. No chilli chocolate, it would appear I ate the whole lot...
Pr*t was hell on earth on Saturday. There was a performing arts day in the town centre. Meaning huge dinosaurs, giraffes, aliens, skinny tele-tubbies, singers and a myriad of other performers. Town was packed to the rafters and so was the shop. It was a lovely treat for those that weren't working, hell for those that were. Nobody got a break or even a drink as the queue was always out of the door. There wasn't a seat spare and the food kept running out. Most people are lovely, but one or two are so very rude...
Finally, I've cleared the flower bed beside the patio and planted the last of the bulbs. I'm going to put some polythene down on the beds at the top of the garden to kills the weeds off. First I have to remove some dead plants and cut quite a bit to ground level. I would imagine that the leaves are going to start turning and falling very soon too. I want to collect them up to use for garden next year. It's all exercise, so I'm told...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I need help!
I've found a job as an Employment Advisor, not something I've ever considered or done. Yet the idea appeals to me. I've been made redundant twice meaning I know what it's like to be unemployed. I like working with people and I now have all the customer services experience through working at Pr*t. But I can't work out how to put all that into a cover letter. Can any of you give me some pointers please. I'd be so grateful, it would be great to help other people rather than a huge corporation.
I originally come from a brand and design background, I have managed huge projects and large teams, but I'm not sure how relevant this is to the job. Although most people who worked with me said I was very motivating and easy to work with.
Here is the job spec
To us, your attitude and personality matter as much as what’s on your CV. We are looking for initiative, creativity, energy and determination because, as an Employment Advisor, you’ll be supporting a diverse set of unemployed clients to find lasting jobs. They will each require different support so you’ll be doing a job that’s varied, challenging and genuinely rewarding.
We work to very high standards and performance targets in a positive culture where everyone wants the best for their clients. Whatever your experience, we need people with an open-minded, determined attitude who can motivate and inspire both themselves and their clients to succeed.
Cover letter outlining why you believe you are suitable for the role and what three things you would do to assist our clients in finding sustainable employment

Dont know if this helps but just some random thoughts of the top of my head
Three things - could you think of each person as a "brand". For example when say you were in previous job you were allocated lynx shower gel to promote, you had to find out what was your target market (young men) and do advertising to appeal (pulling lots of hot women!) So to turn this into this role, you have your product (unemployed candidate) and you need to promote them to potential employers so they can get job. How do you do that. Fund out background of your product, what works in selling them, skills they have, what potential employers are looking for, what appeals to them. Ok thats 2, how about a third being a sort of mentor, you said you worked well in teams, motivational skills etc so could you bring that to the job too??
Please feel free to ignore, not a clue really what I am talking aboutDebt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!
