Just getting ready to go to my parents' now, luckily DH isn't coming home until the morning so I'll have time to empty the bed when I get home. Why didn't anyone remind of the rule that I shouldn't get anything out that's going to take more than an hour to put back?

Jue my bed's disappeared too. I've cleaned all 3 boys room and sorted out 2 of their clothes - there are an awful lot that don't fit! Just doing dinner then I'll do 15 minutes of sorting it into various piles for rehoming/storing.

Everything happens for a reason :)
  • Despite a week of very little work I should have been doing, the place doesn't look that bad. Well, except for the heaps of Minion gibble glowering at me.

She was told quite clearly that anything that is left not put away is fair game for me this weekend. Strangely, having chucked a load of stuff recently that she claimed to be very cross about, that meant she actually did pick a lot up before KH turned up early. I will be decimating her wardrobe whilst she is absent, though.

Got rid of the old portable telly and freeview box, as the scart socket was wonky and both remote controls went AWOL. Put it out the front and hopefully it will be gone by morning. It also means there are no distractions upstairs for Minion.

I have also reorganised the main kitchen cupboard for the protein shakes I have been having for breakfast recently (I am not a breakfast type of person) and decluttered a load of my clothes into a box for sorting. I think I will put my old IKEA tub chair out for anyone who wants it next week, then the bedside cabinet the week after that. Then I'll Freecycle the white IKEA chest of drawers and, hopefully, end up with a lot more room.

Other than that, there is drain cleaner on the shower thingy, as it's starting to drain slowly and I would rather not have to faff around with tiny grub screws if I can avoid it, the counters have all been cleaned, as have the appliances, I need to put loo cleaner around the upstairs WC and I vacuumed upstairs.

I suppose, looking at it like that, I've done quite a bit today.

Oh, and I popped into a - gasp - running shop. Typical, the one place in the area that did proper running stuff and not leisure shoes, and it's closing down at the end of the month. Managed to get a pair of motion control trainers for 25% off standard price, so were cheaper than bog standard shoes. Because, having cleared my credit card bill :j: that I ran up around 9 years ago. I now have the ability to pay for gym membership. Not that I've got that yet - got to afford the superduper sports bra and a couple of T-shirts first - but I loved the gym (well, the rowing machine, weights, pilates, yoga, swimming, steam room, sauna, etc); and want to try and use the periods I have where the steroids work well to try and get my weight down and fitness up. First is going to be the couch to 2.5K challenge, I think. If I get started on that, it's free until the point at which I can justify the expense for the gym.

Oh, and I must feed the splats.

I have been dabbling with flylady rotuines and doing what I can - morning routine, one load of washing a Day (depending on space on clothes horse / if I can hang it out) doing the dishes at night/tidying the kitchen, and a basic before bedtime routine.

Well, today I did something that I've never done before. Something I've been meaning to do but thought surely it can't be THAT good! But I did and was amazed!! Yes - I shined my sink!!!! The taps are sooooo sparkly!! :T

May just try and keep that up!!

No flying for me today, but have my list ready tomorrow. Tots going to panto with granny and gramps and staying over. So I am holing up, locking the door, and cracking on with my chores. Preferably in my pjs. Well, after I've been to the post office, anyway.

I'll invite myself along for Sunday lunch I think, on the pretence of saving them a journey and collecting the kids :D

En route, I need to purchase a new pair of work trousers as my diet is going so well I can now take them off without unfastening, hugely gratifying, however not a good look with such a baggy @rse and potential to disrobe at any given time

[STRIKE]Declutter mission: put unused bookcase in the shed...I might never get around to selling it, but at least it won't be cluttering up the house! [/STRIKE]

Now the cleaning of the sink, loo and shower were more of a spit and a prayer than a thorough scrub, but I did it. Skipped the HHI but since I spent ages hoovering the whole house (and putting flea spray down :S) I think I can be excused!

I didn't put the bookcase in the shed but I did put some other things in there so that definitely counts.

Urgh, can't believe after six years of having cats we eventually got fleas in the house. Not actually seen any but I've had quite a lot of bites. Making me itch just thinking about it. That'll teach me to use the cheapo flea preventors and to be a little, shall we say lax, about the time elapsing between applications. Never gone more than 3 weeks over but clearly not enough. Though some might say this is a salutory lesson to me to hoover more often, as well. Don't think the office had seen a hoover for more than a month.
