Guys, samknows gives the distance from the exchange more as the crow flies, the kitz estimator gives the actual length of the line based on the attenuation (there are some good maths behind it
) and is therefore far more representative of the route the copper takes between your exchange and your house

I did wonder if that would be the case, but I didn't think Kitz was that smart!0

Wash your mouth out !!!
But seriously, Kitz is far smarter than me when it comes to broadband, and I've learned lots from her excellent site and some of the forum members...........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Good news:)
Emailed sky last night about my low sync speed that my line has been fixed on, and fairplay to Sky just got up, checked the router stats and its syncing at 15996kbps for downstream.
Also have an email saying at my request, they've restarted DLM and set my router at a starting sync of 15996kbps.
Thanks again GunJack for your helpful advice.0 -
^^^ excellent !! sounds like you've got the right result
keep an eye on how it goes and let us know - hopefully your line is more stable now and your end-of-training sync will be closer to what it should be
