They're not gonna sell out as badly either. there's going to be more PS3 consoles on launch than 360s, but its not the right market time.~*Cerenia*~

Also remember the importing competition you will be up against. This wont be the 60gb imports but the 20gb imports.
Ebay are only stopping the sale of imports prior to the launch however, they will not stop them once the unit has been released in this country. They will be continuously sold like the PSP
Therefore, you will be selling a ps3 60gb at around £600.00 or so, whilst cheaper units are availible around the £300 - £400 mark. The importers will still be making a nice profit on those considering they can be bought in Japan over the counter for £220.000 -
all the above ONLY apply to pre-sale listings & not regular listings once the item is officially released.kronas wrote:you CAN sell a PS3 on ebay by meeting strict criteria...
1. You may only offer one PlayStation 3 console.
2. If you are pre-selling a console, your listing must comply with our
Pre-Sale Listings Policy. You must guarantee that the item will be
available for dispatch within 30 days of the date it is listed on
ebay.co.uk
3. You must offer PayPal as the only payment option. The item must
qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection.
4. You may only offer a PlayStation 3 console that you obtained within
the EU. PlayStation 3 consoles obtained outside of the EU cannot be
listed on ebay.co.uk
5. Your listing must include a photo of your purchase or pre-order
receipt. We recommend that you block out any personal information such
as credit card numbers on the receipt to make sure that they arent
visible on the photo

We wanted to let you know about some restrictions that will be placed on pre-sales of the Sony Playstation 3 console and games. To protect the whole eBay community, sellers will not be permitted to list PlayStation 3 consoles and games on eBay.co.uk until the authorised European pre-sales period begins in February 2007. Once the official pre-sales period has begun, eBay.co.uk will also be asking sellers to comply with the following requirements:
1. You may only offer one PlayStation 3 console.
2. If you are pre-selling a console, your listing must comply with our Pre-Sale Listings Policy. You must guarantee that the item will be available for dispatch within 30 days of the date it is listed on ebay.co.uk.
3. You must offer PayPal as the only payment option. The item must qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection.
4. You may only offer a PlayStation 3 console that you obtained within the EU. PlayStation 3 consoles obtained outside of the EU cannot be listed on eBay.co.uk.
5. Your listing must include a photo of your purchase or pre-order receipt. We recommend that you block out any personal information such as credit card numbers on the receipt to make sure that they aren’t visible on the photo.
Our top priority is to ensure that eBay remains a safe and reputable place to buy and sell. Please be aware that we may take action against your account if your listing doesn’t comply with these guidelines.

The eBay.co.uk Team
So according to this only 1 sale per account?0 -
I put a couple of pre-sales in watching this morning. As far as I could see, everything seemed ok and complied, or so I thought, with the criteria set by Ebay. However, by this afternoon, the auctions had been pulled by Ebay. One was a BIN and the other was an auction.
I wonder if anyone is actually going to be able to list and complete a pre-sale successfully.0 -

I don't know. I see that one of the sellers has listed again and put that this listing complies with ebay regulations for the pre-sale of the Sony PS3.
I think ebay are probably looking for any excuses to pull these auctions.
Mind you, with some retailers/etailers not having taken pre-orders yet, is there any need for people to buy on ebay before 23 March. Comet, for example, still have not started taking pre-orders.0 -

Probably due to the fact they could not be guaranteed for delivery within 30 days. Official release date is 23rd march (I think
) therefore to comply with pre sales regulations it is probably best to wait to list until tomorrow at the earliest.
