Looking at the job centre there are a few. You get Customer service assistant, the town, company and address is with held, why do they do this? What stops me applying is the fact it could be a woman's cloths shop, New Look or the likes.
Because they do not want agencies contacting them and you probably emailing them no stop.

You can apply for anything and if you do not want to attend an interview if you are shortlisted thats up to you

Many jobs advertised on direct gov dont give alot of information out I have noticed.
LOL some don't even tell you where to send the application/cv

Saw one the other day saying look on the link provided and follow the link but it was an email address so I called the helpline and asked and she read the advert out to me and then said send an email to this email address. I said to her what you have just read out was in fact look at the web site and follow instructions but this is an email address, to which she replied 'I have no idea'
  • It's not as bad as jobs that don't say remotely where they are. E.g. you'll get jobs that just say your city as the location so you apply hoping they're in an area near you and then they turn out to be as far away as they can possibly get. Or they'll say they're in "Manchester" but actually turn out to be in Stockport or Macclesfield or something. I don't want to work for a company that either lies, or is so stupid they don't know where they're located!

Kleeneze find it difficult getting any response if they put their name in a job ad.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

I was thinking along these lines, a decent employer wouldn't feel the need to hide there info.

Around here we have a few meat factories, in the past they would always hide their names and as much details as possible in order to get applications as the work was dirty and pay rubbish, now they don't advertise, they don't need to but I just assumed others followed suit, why hide your details?

they do not hide their name in order to get MORE aplications at all. How would that work?

Like already said here people hide their info as they dont want agencies contacting them, they do not want you to follow up the application, they do not want cold callers etc

I applied for a job before Christmas and it wasn't until I arrived for my interview that I realised that it was a Chicken factory. There was nothing in the job description on the Jobseeker Direct website to indicate that.

Some jobs need to be applied for using Job Centre application forms.

So, based on my experience, falko89 is basically right in what he says.

Yeah well thats what I always thought, to get people to actually apply, people are more likely to apply for something even if they don't know what it is than they are to apply for a meat or chicken factory.
