Why do some companies hide there name when advertising jobs?

Looking at the job centre there are a few. You get Customer service assistant, the town, company and address is with held, why do they do this? What stops me applying is the fact it could be a woman's cloths shop, New Look or the likes.

Probably because the company don't want agencies constantly phoning them touting for the business?

So you don't want to apply because you are sexist?

I'd look out of place, a big burly guy stuck in New Look or Vogue.

They need burly blokes to stack in the warehouse. Don't stereotype yourself. And a guy with a great personality sells LOADS!

A lot of these stores sell guys' clothes too, especially the bigger stores. And so what if turns out to be women's clothes or similar - go for it! :)

Out of interest - if you are on JSA or even just jobless at the moment surely you should be allowing the employer to decide if they want you rather than turning jobs down at this early stage?

It could also be because they are putting through someone on long term sick through the capability route and don't want to make it obvious they are recruiting for their existing role before they have formally been sacked...

If it were a clothes shop where you'd be out of place I dare say they wouldn't even offer you an interview.

OP, if you are looking at jobs on Direct gov just scroll down to where it says additional information then click on transport direct, the door to door planner pops up then you can see the postcode for where the job is.

You can either click find on map or google the postcode and hopefully that should help you know where the job is.
