Dispute with Orange - your opinion needed!

doesnt make sense thats a standing order that would be a wrong date not a dd
I only knew what I was told by Orange. Orange told me I could pick a day to set my Direct Debit up - I said 23rd of each month, they set it up for 9th, I rang to query, they said I can change it to 23rd but I needed to cancel and re-set up DD - I did this with the fella on the phone.
Why wouldnt a DD be the wrong date? They have managed to set up my Direct Debit now for the 23rd.
Not one person has told me what they would do in my situation - go to court or let it lie! I know the ins and outs of my own situation, I just want to know what everyone else would do!Debt Free by Xmas 2014!

That's exactly what I said to them and what I've disputed with them since and they just ignored it as they have done with everything else
very frustrating!
I have paid it now so I'm thinking of carrying on my dispute or sending it all to an ADR and see where that gets me. I have to say, since they put the credit mark on my file that became priority to get removed and now it has a part of me thinks I should just let it lie and try and get out nearer the end of my contract. I'm hoping they make another !!!! up giving me even more ammo to be honest, not that I think i need anymore. But then a part of me just doesnt want the hassle. Very annoying

Seems like a catalogue of disasters and I feel for you.
What I don't understand is if you have access to "your solicitor", then (a) are they no good or (b) what are you doing asking us lot of non-professionals?
Just interested!

He is quite happy to go either way on it, he has just said to me it is my decision as they have been quite stubborn so far, do I still want to continue.
I just wondered if anyone else would carry on the process or let it go as yet another disaster with yet another company. I’m not asking for your advice on the issues as such, more just what you would do in my shoes! I am terrible at making my own decisions obviously! :rotfl:Debt Free by Xmas 2014!

you could carry on but using a solicitor will cost you alot more in the end than you owe
its up to you if the principle matters moreWhat goes around-comes around0 -
There seems to be a lot of wires crossing in this thread.
Mayforher, i think you need to be really simple about the matter and get in touch with the executive office at orange. They are the people that will take ownership of your account and find a settlement.
When you write to them you need to be simple and clear about a few things.
1. What date you started your contract
2. the cost of each bill, the date received and the date the bill was expected to be paid.
3. the agreed initial direct debit date
4. which days you paid over the phone, which day you were overcharged.
I'm sure your problem will be resolved!0
