do you know where they live?
if not then you are giving incomplete advice
the aim is 3pm for town duties
    4pm rural
however the USO does not make that compulsory

sorry custardy times have changed. In customers services, complaints are taken if mail is delivered after 3pm uk wide. I never said it was compulsory. Just that a complaint would be taken if deliveries are made after 3pm!

but that 'complaint' goes to the delivery office
if staff are out past 4pm delivering ,then no doubt the person getting the complaint is fully aware of it. given they will have forecast the overtime in their daily forecasts

It goes further than the delivery office custardy. complaints are monitered and so are the office if they dont improve. could be issues which need sorting in the office. (or could be staff issues)

    yes,but on a rural its a 4pm target
your post made it sound like there was an instant problem with deliveries after 3pm
    there aren't
many offices now start a 7am or later. so with a finish time of 3pm and the usual staff shortages. its not unusual
folks need to get over the fact that delieveries are later now.
    3pm is a target

RM are useless and getting worse.

Is a good excuse not to pay the bills on time though as everyone expects them to lose stuff.........

ME: oh I never received that letter........
Company: stupid RM I'll get another in the post
    Me: [ha ha you lose]

I agree that Royal Mail customer services are appalling. I had an issue that I chased for months. In the end, when it repeated itself I went to the Police and was insistent as reporting it as 'Wilful Delay' as it's a criminal offence. They were a bit reluctant at first and it took a mention of the IPCC to get them to do something. All of a sudden RM started listening, the offending postman was suspended and then dismissed and the problem was solved. Jesus, what a lot of work to do it.

Ultimately if RM customer services are awful to customers we do, ultimately, have the best weapon. We stop using them and find alternatives. Just don't jump out of the RM frying pan into the Yodel fire.

well many people think their letterbox is fine
however the postie has to open that with one hand, with the letters in it
the other hand has a bundle of mail and a bag on the shoulder.

    aw bless.....

You make the bundles a size were you can hold and lift the letter box. You don't need to carry the whole streets mail in one bundle.
