Well, it'll give her a much higher income than being unemployed or than working in a theme park!0 -
It may be worth her contacting her local jobcentre plus as they will be able to advise her on what she may be able to claim and help her fill out the forms.

Can I just add my support to this suggestion?
There should be an advisor who will deal with young people in this situation.
There may be a case for offering financial support for your step daughter as she may be deemed to be 'estranged' from her family.
Certainly she is in a vulnerable position and needs some support if her own family is not providing it.0 -

Don't worry ONW likes to make snidey remarks whenever he/she can.
Would she not be entitled to income support? or does the baby have to be born first.
Either way when baby is born I am sure she will be entitled to CB CTC and if she gets a job she will be entitled to WTC as well.
As for whilst she is pregnant.. I do not think there is much she can claim0 -

Glad you made something of your life. Looking back to when I was 15, how the hell would I have coped with being a dad I have no idea!
At that age I didn't really know that much about it, I was more interested in animals than humans!!
I find it astonishing that a girl at that age can and is a mother herself.0 -

Maybe it would have been more Correct of me to ask: How many weeks pregnant is she? I was trying to ascertain if this baby was due soon so only short term help required or if the girl was in early pregnancy and going to struggle for a while? Which at 16 weeks is obviously the case.0
