Afternoon all
Sunflower - thinking of you today, hope it goes well x

Freezing cold here. This morning my work kids started on their community project. We are helping clear an old railway platform ready for regeneration, and tidying up the area. The kids complained it was too cold to work but once they got on with it they soon warmed up! The sun was shining so it was quite nice. I brought a big flask of hot water and cups/tea/coffee/milk so we had a cuppa break halfway through the morning
. They only work half day on Weds so we eased into the project. Will be there all day tomorrow and again next week.
OS wise - I put half a pint of milk in freezer as I won't be using it up soon, LO cheese pie for lunch, not much else!!
Off to uni in a bit, I have very much lost my mojo for studying at the moment
need to find it again as I have a big assignment due in 2.5weeks and haven't really started it yet
. I've done a bit but am waaay behind where I should be! I know it will get done but just need to do it!! :rotfl:
Have a good day all

Afternoon all,
Been studying why this sever weather and tons of snow is here in Europe, Russia and Far East.
Can anybody prove or investigate if this is due to the oil neutraliser used when BP made the oil spill in Mexican Gulf? There are discussions in non-English website. It is said that the Gulf Stream, a warm Atlantic Ocean current and one of the strongest ocean currents known is not circulating as it should be due to the oil neutraiser. It would be interesting to see if this is true.

Afternoon All,
Managed to get quite a few jobs done this morning, I am the same I must do it first thing or it doesn't happen, I am definitely at my best in the morning.
Have made the pork and bacon sauce, packaged the ebay parcels, emptied the bins up stairs and had a tidy round and rescued the bins from the middle of the street were the bin men left them.
Also have sent an email to my sister in law with some admin she is going to help get organised re DH's electrical licences before we get there so he can hit the ground running. Bit of a faff so glad thats done.
Flutterbyuk, I used to leave my stuff until the last minute at Uni as well, but I found I did a lot of planning in my head leading up to sitting down and writing so actually I had been working on it before hand iykwim.
My diet has gone to pot this last 2 wks with DB visit so need to get back on track BFNStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Snow still about here but the roads are clear and where I work which is only 7 miles away you wouldnt think it had been snowing at all, but it is very very cold so Im sat here with the heating on and wearing a fleece:)
Day off today and yesterday, been having a go at crocheting and I really enjoy it, I think I have found at long last something I can do, I made some tin covers and they are sooo sweet, thinking I could make some for small Xmas pressies:rotfl:
Hoovered through, done some more washing and made a humungous shepherds pie, which will last a few days and some will go into the freezer as well, I love comfort food, may make some cake this afternoon when the oven goes on
Belated Happy birthday JackieO

Very quick stop just to say I'd use Extra-Extra Mature Cheddar for this.Dinner last night was macaroni cheese - was really bland - it had nearly half a block of cheese in it so don't know why - any ideas? Looked in my cookery books and most of the recipes seem to include parmesan as well as cheddar - obviously this would add more flavour but also cost quite a bit more to make, may try that next time or should you use really strong/mature cheddar?
Hope Sunflower's getting on OK.
Gotta dash.

Good Evening chums well my smashing friend finished of my beroom and it looks so nice I can't belive how different it looks I am shopping for a new carpet next week. She wouldn't take anything for her hard work so I gave her a donation for The Linus project which is the charity knitting and quilting group that we both belong to.she has gone home now as her OH is coming home from his works course tomorrow. She really has been an absolute champion and I have kept her supplied with coffee cake and food and chat whilst she worked on my bedroom.
We went to my youngest DDs for dinner last night and as is the custom who ever its birthday is gets to choose the take away (its only birthdays that we have one) so I choose fish and chips and it was delicious and my DD mad a beautiful white covered chocolate cake whic my DGS 'helped' to polish off. One of the boys Jack is 12 on the 24 of this month and he has decided that his 'take away' will be pizza. They are all great lads and know that instant food is only a treat on birthdays.I had a lovely evening and we spent a lot of time reminicing as my friend June used to be my DDs childminder 40 odd years ago so the boys were regaled with tales of what Mum was like as a little girl, which they found quite interesting:):).
DGS Dan has just texted me to say he is going to pop in on his way home from London to see me so I'd better see if there is any cakes in the tin as he is always starving he has to travel from the studios in Hertfordshire to the Medway area in Kent where we live so always has at least an hour and a half commute.
Hope everyone has had a nice day and keeps well wrapped up and warm, snow is forecast again for tomorrow I think
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
"Collecting our new puppy on Saturday, kids are VERY excited, I am excited-come-OMG it will be like having a toddler that CHEWS everything at home "
Bitsy the best thing we bought when we had our puppy was a puppy crate. It kept him from chewing when no-one was at home and he also used to go in it when he was tired of being fussed. If you live anywhere near Chepstow you can borrow ours, but it might be worth asking any friends who have dogs if they have one in storage.
Monnogran hope all goes well with the house.
adelight hope you feel better soon, my DD is in her last year at Uni and like you she keeps being ill-probably stress.
Welcome to mummycm and Dundeedoll
JackieG sorry you have been made redundant but if it's what you want then let's hope there are better things to come.
Hugs to all and hope you all keep warm. It's freezing here!!!!!!£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.
