Thanks PG, will have a look. Work is picking up at the moment so beginning to be a bit more optimistic. Just need not to slack off if more money comes in on the debt busting. Really want to blast these debts so we can move house.Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0

Pay day on Monday and still got some money left!!! Not a lot, but will pay for me to book a sun holiday (have all coupons ready). Have had a few of these and have always had a good time. Did feel a pang of guilt buying them this time though ( am a lfc supporter).
The extra from not paying the ct will pay for my road tax and the rest of the month is almost finished budgeting for ( not got final incomings yet).
Have a good day xNumber of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
:T:TWoooHooo! Have just checked my online payslip and I have had a tax rebate! In the past this would have been spent and I wouldn't have been able to tell you what it had bought, but not this time.
This will make up for the shortfall this month from DH and hopefully mean that we are back on the right track and can cut down an od a little bit. Also means as long as I keep to the habits I started in Jan, I can stop stressing. I won't say relax, because we all know that means letting go of the purse strings, but at least I know there is money in the account to cover everything that has been budgeted for.

Yay, brilliant news! Not many of us diary-keepers manage that in January so congratulations

Time for some updates.
Got £236 back from gas credit
Much better handle on our money. Putting this away in case we're down in wages this month. Have managed with some extra money coming our way to pay all our bills despite being £1000 down in jan and feb. hopefully we will have this in march and I can start making overpayments. If this is the case I can pay off dh store card and then concentrating on Tackling the od next.
No sun holidays when we can take them
so will keep on eye on late rooms etc later on in the year, to get a late deal.
Went out for tea last night for a half term treat. Haven't done this since November and really enjoyed it. Made me realise where our money went before when we would have a take away and a meal out each week
So frustrating that I can't make any overpayments yet but I would never have managed to pay all the bills I have without the cut backs I have made. Just have to keep thinking towards the future. I will be able to make these payments soon.Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
All great news for your Shelski. Things are looking good. Hopefully it wont be long before you can make those extra payments. xxLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Have managed to overpay £240 on DH storecard this month

£40 of that was from my £2. Those coins sure add up
Other payments being paid slowly but surely.Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
:jQuick update -my od paid off and dh's store card paid off. Other balances going down more slowly but all in the right direction. Can't remember the last time I used my credit card and the world hasn't fallen in.
Down to 9 debts from 14 this time last year.Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
Well, it's the end of the year and there've been some ups and downs on the money front. Big loan finally paid off and dh car loan ends in April, but dd needs braces which we have to pay for
and I refuse to pay interest on them so we're doing it over 12 months which means quite a lot per month. My car gave up the ghost finally and with more travelling to get to my new job I needed a reliable one so that has to be paid, but did get it at 0% interest with no balloon payment at the end.
Business is steady and all money is ready for THEM so one less worry. Ccs going down steadily, not used them for 12 months!! Christmas almost all paid for with savings I set up. Overspent on food drastically but nothing else to but except fresh stuff now, on a mission to see how little I can spend on groceries in January.
Really want to move house so still working on those pesky od's. wish I could get rid once and for all.
So, to sum it all up, I owe more now than last January but have more to show for it, iykwim. Monthly payments will be less after April and I just have to keep chipping away. Here's to 2014..Number of debts between us - 3 (2 @ 0%)0 -
Happy New Year, Shelski. The new car will hopefully mean no more unexpected repair bills for a good while which are always a nightmare - I sometimes wonder whether we should do the same thing and get rid of Mr Happy's old banger, but so far we have kept it on the road (at a cost though!). Hope 2014 is a good one for you xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!
