how to stop people stealing your food?

I used to put small curly hairs on top of my containers, that seemed to keep them away.0

One thing you could do is go for as many dried low fat options a possible. Some will still get nicked such as dried noodles, but others like dried skimmed milk never will. You can get used to the taste
In fact even now I still bring dried skimmed milk to work not because people nick milk but because it is more convenient for me not to go to the fridge in another room to get it. For me its like the difference between diet coke and coke, noticeable but not off putting
Another thing for breakfast, I noticed is to eat porridge. I personally like the stuff raw or cooked but I now not everyone likes raw porridge. However even though it takes 5 mins to make a cooked porridge dish cornflakes are far easier to nick and easier to eat for most people. If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0 -
Cool bag (make sure it has two zip tags)
+
I used to live in backpackers hostels, and this worked a treat. You just put the padlock through the two zip pulls, and then
a) food is out of sight and out of mind
b) other people's food is far easier to nick.
I still use an (unlocked) bag in halls; there's not a massive food theft problem, but the "out of sight out of mind" principle still applies.0 -
I like the Soya idea! People don't generally steal Soya. (although I drink it anyway) I had this problem in my first year, when there were only 8 of us. I normally de-packaged "exciting" food, so that it looks mysterious. People didn't open my tupperware when they weren't sure what was inside! Mwahahaha!
People should be careful stealing things out of the fridge, my father keeps what we call his 'bunny glue' in our fridge at home. (Exactly what it says on the tin, for gold-leafing) :O0 -

Apart from all the above options you could keep these in your room no fridge needed http://www.lookwhatwefound.co.uk/Page/Index.aspx

Easy. Mix in some Lactulose. The culprit should be easy to find."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Happened to me too.
My friend and I put a bottle of home made wine in the fridge...home made from things like washing up liquid, milk, oil, gravy. Managed to get it looking a red wine colour and consistency.
Found it poured all over everyone elses food in the fridge the next day and a spit mark across the carpet.
Didn't stop him nicking all our food (we knew exactly who it was) but made us feel better.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I once poisoned (accidentally) someone who took something out of my fridge and ate it. It really should have been thrown out but I hadn't got round to it. They were very poorly but it served them right.Nothing is truly lost until your mum can't find it!0
