I suggest that you use a comp site with your anual kWh figures to check?
No one can tell you the best deal without knowing your consumption and region-there is no universal 'best' tariff. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

why more fixed deals ?
supply of natural gas at a high, more techniques for putting on the market i.e shale gas
Oil at $100/barrel, and could fall0 -
Laugh all you want, I have been on SaveOnline 9 since September 2011, which is ending in September 2012.
Compared to Energy Online, the Tier 2 gas unit rate is equivalent to DD6% DF2% plus an extra 15.66%, making a total 23.66% discount.
Assuming no changes on 27th February to SaveOnline 9,
it's not that much different from a FixOnline deal, best of which had 26.3% total discount, for my post code.0 -
My FixOnline 9 is also expiring.
My current charges are -
Electricity: First 900kWH = 24.392p Next kWH = 9.545p ( inc VAT )
Gas First 2680kWH = 6.525p Next KWh = 3.158p (inc VAT)
I get 6% discount for paying by fixed monthly direct debit, a 2% dual Fuel Direct Debit discount and a 3% discount for managing account online
I`m not sure if the discount is already applied to my above prices? Can anyone inform me please?
Soooo, I`m looking at a few options. I do prefer to fix, E On are offering the " E On Fixed Price Saver 13" - Prices fixed til April 2013 which breaks down as
Electricity: First 900kWH = 26.334p Next kWH = 11.729p ( inc VAT )
Gas First 2680kWH = 8.114p Next KWh = 3.543p (inc VAT)
With a 6% discount for paying by fixed monthly direct debit, and a 2% dual Fuel Direct Debit discount.
Other option is the " E ON saveonline 11" - Prices will be at least 2% cheaper than our standard E.ON Energy Plan prices for 12 months, from the date you sign up to E.ON SaveOnline 11 - Valid from 27/2/12
Electricity: First 900kWH = 24.182p Next kWH = 11.729p ( inc VAT )
Gas First 2680kWH = 8.402p Next KWh = 3.665p (inc VAT)
With a 6% discount for paying by fixed monthly direct debit and a 2% dual Fuel Direct Debit discount - So this saves on the Electricity but is not fixed.
The Final option is called E.On Energy online again Valid from 27/2/12
Electricity: First 900kWH = 24.675p Next kWH = 12.075p ( inc VAT )
Gas First 2680kWH = 8.573p Next KWh = 3.73p (inc VAT)
This looks like a standard plan, the Electricty is cheaper then fixed, slightly more the then saveon line option while gas is about the same, however along with the 6% discount for paying by fixed monthly direct debit, and the 2% dual Fuel Direct Debit discount you also get a further 2% online discount.
Again, are these discounts already applied in the prices quoted?
So thats if I stay with EON. I have bashed my annual Gas and Electric KWH into USwitch and a few options have appeared - especially with Scottish Power. They are offering Fixed Prices till January 2015. One option is an FTC Dual Fuel and the other just a Dual Fuel. What is NSC - I know it means No Standing Charge but not quite sure what the relveance is to me and how my present tarriff with E On is calculated?
Anyway the two Scottish Power options are;
Fixed Price Energy January 2015 Online NSC Dual Fuel
Electricity 25.41p per KWh
11.40p per KWh above 900 kWh p.a
Gas 8.640p per KWh
3.764p per KWh above 2680 kWh p.a
This comes with Discounts of- Dual Fuel Discount: £16.80
- Online Discount: £15.75
OR
Fixed Price Energy January 2015 Online Dual Fuel
Electricity £126.14 Annual standing charge 11.40p per KWh
Gas £130.707 Annual standing charge3.764p per KWh
This comes with Discounts of- Dual Fuel Discount: £16.80
- Online Discount: £15.75
All things considered the front runners for me are the E ON saveonline 11 as its not too much of a price Hike or the Scottish Power Fixed Price Energy January 2015 Online NSC Dual Fuel depending if you guys can explain if the discounts are any good??
Well thanks for the read, appreciate its a long read and any advice is much appreciated0 -

Unless you re a low user, NSC and SC charges will work out almost exactly the same -the difference will be pence. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I am in the same boat as you with Fixonline 9 ending and just been doing some calculations. I am happy with EON, always very friendly and helpful customer service and sometimes I think it's better the devil you know. We are a lower user family, they just reduced our DD to £32 for dual fuel and we are still in credit.
Eon saveonline 11 seems to work out the cheapest for us but still quite a hike in price...am hoping/praying that something fixed will come out the bag before the 1st March. Yes I know, deluded!0
