Their plates are lettered rather than numbered, that one is jumbo plate D. I got it from Amazon a couple of weeks ago but they don't seem to have it anymore.

I can't do whole nail stamping - no matter how carefully i position it it always looks like i've done it whilst drunk - all lopsided.

    Yours looks fab starrystarry.

I've just painted my nails is a stargazer silver foil (looks identical to the Barry M Foil Effect one) and now umming on arring on what to top it with - either OPI Servin' up Sparkle or OPI Save Me.

    Decisions decisions...

Some lovely photos ladies, Lady S, I cannot be tempted, as unfortunately I cannot see your pics tonight.

Thank you everyone for the advice, yes I do have a crystal file and Avoplex, Nail Envy has worked in the past for me, but doesn't seem to be doing so atm, so will try the hard as nails for a while, I have also bought some Biotin and B vits (I have deficiency problems) the biotin is wonderful, but not good if excess hair is a problem as it makes hair and nails grow.

I have Stormy now too, I love it and it seemed to be pretty tough in wear, my nail wheel thingies arrived today, so I can compare all my greys, beiges, greiges etc.

Are you ensuring you're doing all the basics- rubber gloves for when your hands are in contact with water etc?

Hard as Wraps (blueish tint to the bottle and more industrial looking) rather than Hard as Nails.

My nail wheels arrived the other day too so I'll be doing a lot of swatching this long weekend.

ETA: Just spotted a version in gettingready's Pound shop haul!

Yup, I was all set to buy some 'special' glitters at the aladdin's cave (aka the fingernail store, spend a bomb everytime i'm there :A) when I unearthed these :rotfl:

Just make sure that they're nice and fine - too chunky and it'd stick out through the shellac/polish.

I have some lovely ultra fine peewee glitters so no issue there. Why with shellac anyways? I have a UV top coat that I could use but I think Seche is thicker than the one I have so I was thinking of using that instead unless you think that'd be a problem? I've used nail art glitter from Special FX with their top coat in the past without issue (other than removal of course).

I put a layer or two of clear varnish on top of my glitter ( Martha Stewart) before the top coat. Currently I've got a shellac top coat on but I've used the ordinary Creative UV top coat before and I'm sure the Seche Vite would be OK too. Just not quite as tough.
