Oh lordy I really shouldn't post when I'm tired, apologies for my waffle.

I totally respect your opinion and I'm not judging (for want of a better word!) but thinking of my job, and all the things that we can do - and I'm thinking nail enhancements, waxing, tanning, etc! - polished nails are just done for fun. It's not really something you 'have' to do in order to be pretty, or to correct something that you think is wrong (short nail beds can be masked and extended with extensions).

I don't like my daughter to be dressed like a grown up either, she's always in her pretty little dresses and shoes, rather than jeans and trainers (like me :o) but some things are just fun.
think I was actually a bit scared to post & be judged I've probably been reading the "families" section too much, it is getting scary &nasty over there.
I like the french manicure pinks - they're not in your face but they give your nails a nice glow. Not very noticeable though. I say take her in and show her a stand or two and let her pick what she wants? Best to direct her to the Collection 2000 or Barry M stands, nice and cheap and still good nail varnish :)
    Brilliant advice thank's

Models inc pastel pink is a lovely girlie pink colour. Cheap and good quality too :D
    Thankyou.
Turns out I had 1 pink in my stash a Sally Hansen HD Digital Pink which dd wanted as soon as she saw it. It is a bright bubblegum pink & does look cute on, if she likes it we may get another pink that is more pastel. as soon as I started painting her nails her nose got itchy:rotfl:

Have just won cream tea for two and a posh hotel near us in my sons nursery raffle. Hmmmm posh nails required me thinks. What to do??

What a lovely prize, I think choose your outfit and try a few options to see what you really love and makes you feel classy (not suggesting that you don't look the part the rest of the time:o) IYKWIM:):):)

Well I went to tk maxx today and I picked up loads of polishes. However I took some time to assess the 20 odd polishes I picked up. I then decided that I didn't need any more colours, I just needed to play with the ones I've got.

I know that goes against this thread, but I'm skint. I've got every shade imaginable of pink, purple, green etc, why do I need another load?!!!

    *waits to be shouted at*

Well this is a MSE thread after all! Just because we are NP obsessed doesn't mean that we have to spend just for the sake of it, to me the fun is looking at all the lovely pictures here in magazines etc and re-searching, then deciding what to buy next as well as re-discovering the gems in my stash, layering with holos, glitters etc. It has taken me 5 or 6 years to amass my rather large "collection" and I am much more discerning than in my early days i.e. no golds, no oranges, no yellows for me etc.:rotfl:

  • Thanks guys. I was looking forward all day to go to tk maxx cause you guys said it was a good place to get brands at a decent price.

And I just went in and picked EVERYTHING up! It wasn't until I did the maths did I think how stupid I was being. Although I'm starting to regret not getting the nails inc box set of 7 polishes for £18. But it's best that I didn't.

    Well. I hate orange :D

Trying to do orange nails for the challenge and as well as looking ridiculous against my pale skin... they've chipped, smudged, and I knocked the bottle off my table and it's gone all over my bed. Grrr :D

Did I mention I hate orange?

If its any consolation I dropped the whole bottle and brush (separately) in a bowl of water I was using for marbling yesterday!!!

i actually like it hanspan ... the art work on the orange goes very well with it ... wouldnt put it on my hands but i think it is lovely for the toes :)

You must not be getting the whole effect by photo then;)
The multocoloured lumps all stick up, which is worse and some have scraped off in bed - makeing it look even more like suppurating pustules with the occasional exploder :(

How do you get dots flat rather than my seriously 3d pimples?
I tried squooshing about but just made messy shapes.

I am really loving Catrice polishes ladies, and trying to stop myself ordering some. Found them on a czech website for 69p a bottle, but don't even want to consider what the postage is :(

I'm currently trying really hard not to buy a bucket load of Speciallita polishes from their site as postage works out about £25
I know LLarowe is getting the majority soon but with her mark up its almost cheaper to bulk order from Brazil.

I've got over 200 hundred polishes and am getting to the point where i have most colours and i find now i'm going more for different effects, i.e holos, flakies, glitters.

I can't look at majority of pics as at work and the filter blocks flickr and pinterest. But loving all the oranges so far.

Doing this i discovered i have bloody loads of oranges but rarely wear any of them except on my tootsies.
Gone for China Glaze Rivertine which i the most stunning orange ever. Will post pics when i'm back home tommrow.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler
