Disaster!! On Friday my thumb nail snapped really low so that was the end of that. Tonight I was helping OH shift some stuff when I bent my other thumb nail so low it flipped back. It tore, poured of blood and is currently taped up in tea bag and superglue until it gets long enough to remove fully. The split is so low at the moment taking the nail off would leave it bleeding.

I'm doubly gutted as I went shopping today and came home with some red barry M glitter, 3 bottles of Rimmel (poundland!) and 3 bottles of Essie reduced to £7 for the 3 in TK Maxx. I'd planned a play tomorrow.

Tonight I'd planned to sit and assemble the Lord of The Rings Lego I'd ordered from Argos and when I got there they didn't have it afterall so I've got to go back tomorrow now.

    Not my day, **sigh**

All my nails are peeling and splitting along the top surface :( Do you think it could be because I've been painting my nails so much recently?
    £2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January

  • Well I went to tk maxx today and I picked up loads of polishes. However I took some time to assess the 20 odd polishes I picked up. I then decided that I didn't need any more colours, I just needed to play with the ones I've got.

I know that goes against this thread, but I'm skint. I've got every shade imaginable of pink, purple, green etc, why do I need another load?!!!

Nah, doubt it, unless your changing your polish every day. The polish itself won't cause peeling. I suppose it's possible that your remover could be damaging your!nails. You need to wash your hands after using your remover and make sure you moisturise thoroughly.

My orange nails from the nail challenge...

I am really loving Catrice polishes ladies, and trying to stop myself ordering some. Found them on a czech website for 69p a bottle, but don't even want to consider what the postage is :(

Some advice please girlies, my dd is nearly 7 now & I have said we can paint her nails now we are on school holiday's, it's not something I will do regularly but will let her as a wee treat ( I don't think she needs anything like this she is beautiful in my eyes, maybe I'm overthinking it all?? I don't like little girls being dressed & made up like grown up's IYKWIM)

I totally respect your opinion and I'm not judging (for want of a better word!) but thinking of my job, and all the things that we can do - and I'm thinking nail enhancements, waxing, tanning, etc! - polished nails are just done for fun. It's not really something you 'have' to do in order to be pretty, or to correct something that you think is wrong (short nail beds can be masked and extended with extensions).

I don't like my daughter to be dressed like a grown up either, she's always in her pretty little dresses and shoes, rather than jeans and trainers (like me :o) but some things are just fun.

Unless you've had it on and off more times than a tart's knickers, I doubt it. Your nails are actually better protected with a little coating on them. And now..

    *broken record time*

Solar oil daily (at least) and all your ills will be cured :)

    Well. I hate orange :D

Trying to do orange nails for the challenge and as well as looking ridiculous against my pale skin... they've chipped, smudged, and I knocked the bottle off my table and it's gone all over my bed. Grrr :D

Did I mention I hate orange?
