Well after a poorly kid and a poorly car, managed to grab a couple of hours tonight to have a play with striping tape. Quite pleased with the results. I used Barry M gold as the undercoat and NYC black for the top. Not as even as I would like but it was my first attempt.

Shoppingaddict - they look fab. I haven't attempted stamping again yet as struggling with it.

I'm stuck in the house all day today, so I'm going to try an experiment. I've found some PVA Glue and some half empty clear topcoat so I'm going to make my own foil glue and try the 'translucent foil' I bought from a hobby shop on one nail. If it does work the same it could save quite a bit of money in the longrun!

I did actually pay £6.25 for mine from uk seller on uk ebay, same size etc, but came in a couple of days from buying. Prolly recommend that the saving is not really good enough to wait for American delivery.

I shall now trawl ebay and see what I can find for me!

well, it works!

Admittedly this was my first attempt at foils and I've not got the hang of how long to leave the glue on the nail to dry for so they were patchy, but I can report that transfer foil works ok.

And at that price for ten sheets its a lot cheaper than the stuff with 'nail' in front of it.

The glue was made from an old topcoat, half empty so I refilled with PVA so 50/50 mix.

Need to work out times now for leaving the glue but overall im happy now

I't also made me realise how shockingly bad this topcoat is. Boots on Saturday for me for the Sally Hansen stuff I think!
