Ok, so I may have accidentally bought a Leighton Denny crystal file today
, along with some cuticle oil and Lush Lemony Flutter (Id forgotten how amazing that stuff is!), but I did bag a couple of bargains in the £ shop - a Maybelline Express finish in a rich onyx colour, and a Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polish in Cardinal Red. Ive never had a polish go on so smoothly, its an absolute dream - and only £1!! :money: Off to have a last look at my lovely new crystal file before bed
Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY!You can't expect to Fly if you're still wearing your pyjamas! :j:j:j0 -
Another beginners question I'm afraid...
how long should I leave each coat to dry before applying the next?
And how long before it's all totally dry?
Last week I used a Barry M polish. I did it about 2 hours before bed, but in the morning I had the imprint of my bed sheets on my thumbnail!
Thanks0 -
Tyger you poor thing. Well done for the self control - I would have been ranting back and just made it all worse.
As to the nail shapes - there seem to be about 4 people in the world with those freakily even shaped nails. I bet they have bunions and cauliflower ears, or are actually aliens;)0 -
If you haven't got one I would buy a fast drying top coat. That will stop the imprinting0

What shops do people buy their varnish from?
I've about exhausted all the ones I like around here, and we have basically semi-chem with seriously manky/outdated rimmel. Boots and Superdrug that do the usual brands, and that's it. Supermarkets do Rimmel as well. I have literally been through all off them and ruled them out as being either too dear (5+ a bottle) or just too close to colours I already have. I like the heavy or light shimmery or glittery looks, so plain colours just slide right off my nails, also leaves brush marks, and I'm never happy with the look. Possibly too solid, I like dimension?
I've seen poundland mentioned, but we don't have one here, never seen nail varnish in poundstretchers, or home bargains, and that's my lot here.
The stuff for stamping (can't think of name off hand; sorry, memory/brain fart) I've only bought a couple of, and had to buy on-line, but I kind of baulk at the price of shipping on top. (especially for something that I Can only rely on a picture for (on a tv that I know doesn't show the real colour)
I Want to buy more :$ Gotten quite into the stamping atm, and it's way beyond being even close to perfection, but it's me that did it, so, happy to go out with them being unperfect(also having shorter nails, some you can't even get the whole image on. Don't like long nails, so a few mm above the top skin of the finger/thumb is my limit)
