I found that with the Barry M one unless the polish was still almost wet when the crackle polish was painted on it didn't "crackle".

This is it over green. I didn't much like the effect so I haven't done it again

Also try covering the nail in broad even strokes and don't go back over it

Love my polishes, but hardly wear them.
Anyone got any tips on applying shatter/crackle polish, had my first go tonight and didn't get very good results - may have applied too thin of coat

Apply the other coats as usual.

Then load the crackle brush generously and go across in one sweep. If you miss a bit, reload and do it quickly, as it needs to be liquid to go on. Bit like applying it against the clock.

Once it's on, leave to dry as normal. It'll look rubbish because it'll be matt and just not very nice.

Then apply two coats of a good top coat and it'll come to life.

    The top coats are vital.

I keep my polishes on my dressing table, but I am looking for a better solution as it looks quite messy

    Lovely pictures everyone!

See not even 24 hours later and I'm already chipped. I'll try the tip of giving my nails a scrub before I paint them.

Are you letting it dry properly in beween coats?

I have a Red Helmer, 3 drawers polish and treatments, tools and make up in the others, I love it:j

I don't own one, but I know everyone I speak to (like yourself) who has one, absolutely loves it, and it's pretty affordable too!

I had some newish OPI glitter polishes that have gone really thick and gloopy even though the lids are tightly on and they are stored properly. The Katy Perry glitter has already become really gloopy, but I have read blogs where other people are complaining about this problem.

What I have tended to find is that some of my polishes (esp. No7) get what looks like an oily deposit on top (about 1cm thick). It doesn't matter how much I shake them it doesn't fully mix up again.

Could I recommend Seche restore to fix polishes that go all thick, gloopy and separate. I have a precious bottle of Chanel vamp that it is all dried up, and I need to get my seche restore to return it back to its original state.

I'm following a few nail blogs, one of the latest being Nail Stories. I might take Mushroom off and find something else but I'm not sure what colour I'm in the mood for. I ordered 4 nail varnishes from e.l.f. last night, (I know I shouldn't!) but they're all colours I don't own like pale pink. :)

I keep all of my nail varnishes in a small Boots carrier bag, hoping to find a decent sized makeup bag so I can take them from one home to another since I stay at my fiance's sometimes.
