Cheers Taffy. I am meeting a friend from DVLA later this week. I will point out this thread to them.0

I would give it the attention it deserves, to be treated no differently than any other flyer left on your window and the letters the same as any other scam mail, such as Canadian lottery wins.
Its a scam that impersonates authority and they have virtually no chance of winning a correctly defended claim.
You are right but being as I haven't treated as it originally deserved, I now want to spend the time preparing a good defence for any potential future claim. Can anyone recommend other good sources of information relating to this sort of thing, what sort of things come in to consideration and what basic legal infomation I need to understand please?
Once again, thank you all for your continuing support, it has been much appreciated.0 -
Strange. You don't even know it will go to Court - do you?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, you're dead right, I'm still only at one letter so far as per earlier in the thread. Just seems to me like the sensible thing to do.0 -
I have been talking to two other members about your posts and I've decided I won't post here on this thread any more as I can't be sure this is genuine.
Apologies if you are - but there are some giveaways that suggest all may not be as it seems. You post too much like you are from a PPC. We shall see if this thread ends up with you 'losing' a Court case...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok fair enough, not really sure what to say to that to be honest other than I am geniune.
Posting all the time is simply because I have access to the internet all day and I have had lots of response. Anyway, will keep this updated and see if others continue to post or not.0 -
Henners, I told you in post #17 above what the legal situation is regarding the enforcement of these charges. Now, given that growing public awareness means that over a million people a year don't pay, whereas the number of cases brought in court could be counted on our fingers, I am sure you realise that statistically your chances of receiving a claim form are infinitesimal.
You have been told how the last case this company brought was settled but at a very large loss, because they knew they couldn't succeed.
That simply leaves me wondering why you would want to prepare for a court case at this stage when all the laws of probability suggest that the chances of it happening are about the same as winning the lottery. Obviously I am basing that statement on the assumption you ARE genuine....but I'm accepting you are, unless and until evidence to the contrary appears.
If it were ever to happen, then you would have plenty of time to marshal your defence! You would get 100% help from people here. And the scammers WOULD be defeated. Look at the Parking Eye case, they won't want another disaster like that being crowed about on this and other forums!
Chill out my friend and get on with your life. Just forget about it until something REALLY happens.
Otherwise you are coming across as someone who wants to have a fire engine permanently parked outside his house in case it catches fire!0 -
Yep, you're right. I have read all these through again and the pepipoo one regarding this lot. I feel like a bit of a prune now but I'd rather have a bit of pride damaged than my wallet!
Will do as everyone has said and start ignoring them.0 -
Having looked at this, it is a company that sell "fine your customers" kits and you have had the people you were dealing with trying to scam you, my advice is cancel any business you had with them outright and name and shame them.
They will not take you to court, for what they have done is unlawful.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I don't think he was using that company vax, which is why they snitched on him... henners if you want to do something to help, why not photograph the parking notice that purportedly gave a warning, as it seems not to have been prominent enough for you to see?0
