By stating unlawful they are suggesting you have broken the law, there is nothing in statute books to cover private parking. They have basically put a huge flaw in their case should it ever go to court.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

As already linked & mentioned above, 'KJFletcher' became the pepipoo poster who paid £60 in Court to the barrister. This particular bunch of nasty scumbags do sometimes go to Court.

Obviously it can't be proved but it's possible that was a put-up job, the PPC's other method of intimidation. They took this guy to Court, but never let the Judge make a decision, because they offered to settle for £60- far less than they spent on bringing the case- so they must have realised they weren't going to win it.

The offer was made during a break in the hearing, and reading between the lines it would have been as a result of their barrister advising that they didn't have a snowball's if they carried on. Unfortunately, he didn't realise how desperate they were to drop the losing case so didn't chance it and settled.

At any rate, if he WAS genuine and not one of them, he paid less than he would have done had he paid the amount they originally claimed.

The letting agent is obviously in on the scam, I would have a good luck if this is someone you want to do business with ?

Yes I would completely agree they are in on it, although not sure about what you mean about doing business with them? I certainly won't be letting a house from them! I called the office the next day to try and see someone after I finished work and they were shutting early for the Christmas break (22nd Dec). I then went in to see them when I went to go and look for the APS sign when I returned to the area and they were most unhelpful (understandably), said they didn't own the land, would of course not tell me who took the photo, and said it was out of their hands and that there was no way they themselves could recall the charge. Although for only 10% of ten charge (£15 of the £150 they want) I think they get a very raw deal for doing all the hard work.
  • EVERYONE gets a raw deal out of a PPC, Henners. But how do you know it's 10%?

A lot of these Scams are self ticketing commission based, so whilst you are in doing business with them, someone slips out of the back door and sticks a fake scam ticket on your car.
Who else would wait around hoping the odd car pulled in ?

I would give it the attention it deserves, to be treated no differently than any other flyer left on your window and the letters the same as any other scam mail, such as Canadian lottery wins.

Its a scam that impersonates authority and they have virtually no chance of winning a correctly defended claim.

Where to start on how wrong it is:

    1. As stated above "unlawfully"

2.Box 9 says it is a "fine". Time to inform DVLA of their false advertising?

    3. Also in box 9, "we will ensure payment" How? No legal method available of fining people.

    4. In their FAQs they say they deal with the owner. Surely that is the registered keeper!

    5. They are so sure they are legal and ethical they don't show pictures of themselves on the bio page.

    6. It doesn't tell you where they are based.
  • Just looked them up on Companies House. They are unincorporated, which means that if you sue them you can go for the owner's personal assets.

I don't see a VAT number anywhere either.
