We have cake going ahead, got quotes for cupcakes and chair covers so just need to decide. Seeing florist at the weekend.

Need to go to church though!!! Have had 2 months since seeing the vicar and failed dismally so I MUST go this weekend as we then meet the vicar again next week.

Budget is also getting a bit out of control as I start to think of things like new shoes for the OH, Bags for the bridesmaids etc...anyone else finding this?

  • You can hire wedding shoes for a tenner from my hire shop. I'm not buying him new shoes for one day unless he actually needs some at that point LOL!. If Chris's won't polish up nicely, I will hire him some! :)

That sounds a great plan! Although my OH likes to think himself a bit of a snappy dresser so I don't think he'll accept it :( he's already buying his suit!! Although he's not having tails or anything so it's one he'll wear again to other weddings if nothing else.

Invites going out....tomorrow!!!! aahhh!! so proud of my handiwork although it has been tough going.

Bought 9 yr old little bridesmaids dress last weekend from Debenhams, really happy because she looks lovely and was over the moon with it. Toots - we got her an age 10 but only because it was a very small fit, her Mum said she might only go an inch upwards not outwards in only 4 months, the only thing she said she'd leave til nearer the time now was shoes.

Hopefully going with OH to help him finally get a suit next week then we can sort out matching the best man and ushers :)

Also paid for wedding rings and my dress has arrived I just need to go try it on. Not looking forwards to alterations for that and adult BMs - that's the only big "faff" we still have left. Oh and we should probably book a honeymoon I suppose!

  • Hi guys, I'm very late to the party (although I've been lurking for a good while). I'm getting married on March 30th 2013 like quite a few people on here. Everyone sounds very organised and like its all coming together!
We have been engaged since Sept 2011 so gave ourselves a long time to save up and sort everything out, but i still feel slightly uneasy about getting everything done.
    Done so far:
    • booked registrar and venue
    • given notice
    • bought shoes, wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, grooms suit, best man bought his own suit, had family heirloom wedding ring resized for me
    • made bridesmaids bouquets (origami)
    • booked photographer, chair covers and DJ
    • started making decorations (origami)
    • sent save-the-dates and ordered invitations
    • family friend has offered us transport to the venue (he has a vintage white Rolls Royce)
    • dad has booked 1st night hotel
    • colleague has offered to make the cake
    To do:
    • make bridal bouquet (origami)
    • order centrepieces which I'm dreading as we have basically no budget left for flowers and I dont have a good idea what I want and how to get it cheaply but do want some fresh flowers
    • buy OH's wedding ring
    • decide on the menu with our venue (rhymes!)
    • pay for pretty much everything:eek:
    • decide on, find money for and book honeymoon!
Any tips on getting a good deal on flowers or honeymoons? Once Christmas is out the way I'll really start bricking it!

Oh no, Im sure its perfect thats why you chose it in the first place. Big strong.

Ive booked a vintage bus to transport me to the venue then everyone to the reception.
Nearly all the rsvps back after a fair bit of chasing.
Meeting the photographer for our pre wedding shoot in Jan.
    Buying/tasting the wine at xmas.

    So its all go here.

Thanks pm04gn! It's just because I'm customising it so when "it" came into the shop and I tried it on it didn't WOW me, because it didn't have any of the customisation done yet. Just wish I'd had a lot more money to spend!! And I keep seeing ones with sweetheart necklines now and mine doesn't have that :( oh well I'm sure it will be fine!!
