I have! If out for the day we always take a packed lunch and sit on a bench to eat it in a shopping centre or the street. :o

Us too. Even going places like the zoo. Always take a picnic.

Well I have to admit i don't get out much. I have to search Google for normal behaviour in banks, shops etc because of my isolation.

Do you have a link of any photos of it? I tried "lunch box" "shopping centre" into Google images but can't find any.

Why was it that last year that you could claim £4.25 whereas this year its £4.75? up 12%

You're just being silly now. Why on earth would I have photos, even if I did I wouldn't be putting them on a public site. :rotfl::rotfl:

It's gone up so that you can upgrade to a large fries.
You don't need to pack a lunchbox per say. Just...take a plastic carrier bag, bung some sandwiches inside it and some cartons of juice. Sorted.

  • ... for someone whos trying to stay supported because of agraphobia and social anxiety
... These are pretty serious afflictions for some, and when Im bad Id be far too worried about the travelling (cant handle public transport even at my best times)

How would you cope if they quadroupled the price of petrol and car insurance?
  • Your saying people who don't have easy access to cars don't have social anxiety?
  • Ugnaught - Ive said what I have to say, and believe you are either ripping the wee-wee out of the govt and at the very least from people on here who are pre-disposed to giving the benefit of the doubt. I suggest you look back at YOUR OWN previous posts (not on whether you can get 4 or 5 quid for food) and then look at mine. Go away and stop researching social anxiety and lunchboxes in public areas because despite your best efforts - if your best attempts at conning people like us that have no say in your benefits are so easy to see through then I doubt you will con the system much longer! Now please bu'gger off! :T:T:beer::beer::D:p

Social anxiety doesn't work that easily. If you have it badly enough to be needing benefits, it wouldn't matter if you had a car or not, either way, you wouldn't go out that much. Only if you had to. When I had SA, I would not under any circumstances go on any form of public transport and if I couldn't get a car ride then I didn't go.

Everyone has varying degrees and different kinds but I do think if you have it bad enough to warrant benefits, public transport and the like would be an absolute no-no.

I find it a little strange that you "haven't seen" people eating their own food in the high street.

Not even people who pop into Tesco or a newsagents and get some biscuits or a chocolate bar?

I often go into Tesco and buy a loaf + sliced meat if I get cut short. Eat the whole pack of sliced meat, you still have most of a new loaf left and the lot cost the same as a packaged sandwich. Result.

Even if we take the premise you seem to be implying, that "normal people" don't eat homemade food in the high street, do you not find it strange to be using the "normal person" as your benchmark?

With all due respect, "normal people" don't go to disability tribunals. We're all different. Noone is going to look at you funny for eating a sandwich on a park bench. That's what park benches are there for!

And even if they do, so what? They're the idiots for spending ridiculous amounts of money on prepared food due to lack of preparation (oho...).

just do what i do on my flight to tenerife, as i refuse to pay for airline food.
slap some cheese in two slices of bread, buy a bag of crisps, a kit kat or similar and a carton of orange. place in a tupperware box and jobs a good un, :T:D
i am sure you will have bread in the cupboard and some type of sandwich filling. so it will not cost anywhere near £4.75 to eat.
just my opinion and what i would do. :)
