Travelodge £10 room summer sale 2012

  • I stay in multiple Travelodges every month using these offers and have NEVER (in four years) been asked to provide proof of who I am. I'm asked for the name the room is booked under, I give it, they give me a keycard and send me on my way.

I admit, if the booking name is female and you are male (or vice versa), then it might arouse suspicion but just putting over my experiences.

And, yes, some were booked under other names!

Only 1 travelodge was available in central london for 1st 2nd august when i looked earlier. I ended up getting a premier inn as it was in a better location and only £10 more expensive.
You might want to check whats available sooner rarther than later.

    Question:
If I book a room on my payment card, can I 'give it' to someone else (like family), and are they able to check in without my payment card (but with a printed confirmation etc.) - I'm happy to pay up front.
    Many thanks.

There is nothing to stop you booking a room for someone else.
It actually gives you the option to do so in the booking process.
Why don`t you give it a dummy run so that you know what to do in the sale.

The problem about giving/selling a room to someone else has been discussed here many times.
The upshot being, besides it`s against their T&C, they`ve got all your details and if anything happens to that room you are responsible for it and they can take money from your card to cover damage and also fine you £150 if they think anyone has smoked in that room.

You can certainly put the name of the people the room is for, during the booking process, but I have sometimes missed doing it (in several years of online booking) and I think it's not all that obvious. Luckily- as others have said - it doesn't seem to be crucial.

Watch out that you get the right sort of rooms, (ie family, or double) on the right date. With saver rooms you CAN amend but it costs £5 a go........ :(

Also be careful that if you book another room at the same time, you check the type of room - it won't remember, from further up your booking sheet.(???)

It will default - to a double room - so if you want a family room make sure you have it for EACH booking, at the check screen.

So far my kids have not ended up out on the street - the lovely staff are brilliant + will find you a room if they can - but if the hotel is really full ....

At some Travelodges you don't even have to talk to a human being at check in. You type your surname and postcode or reservation number into a machine and it issues you with a card key and a piece of paper showing your room number.

Do these get booked up quickly? Just wondered if I will have to get up early on Thursday lol. I have already booked Legoland for 26th and 27th July so now a bit worried about how busy it will be in the area on 27th eek!

I've booked rooms before to take my son to training camps, and then in the end our plans have changed and it's been my husband who has taken him. Travelodge haven't batted an eyelid at him obviously not being a "Mrs"!

Anyone stayed in Bangor/Caernarfon/Porthmadog - looking to book one of these but with a baby and a toddler I don't want a dirty unsafe room as sometimes you hear with Travelodge;)
