Its time to grow up and pay off the mortgage

I've mucked up the £co receipt submission- I'd folded away the payment details and submitted, then realised the next day £co need to see everything.
have resent it so hopefully the first batch will be declined, and the second accepted. If not thats £5 missed out on on the first and £3.60 on the second  They're all just sitting as waiting for review. Definitely prefer TCB for ease and quick payment - have received £6.70 already!
Got paid today :T plus £42 expenses which I spent at the beauty salon on essential maintenance! Anyone else know a job where you take in £1.50/minute of work?! I have decided that I'm going to treat myself to something nice like a back massage, rather than the usual torture session
March tomorrow! The third month already!!! Mental. Loving the nie weather.....is it too early to put away my winter coat?
Every little helps with the mortgage- no matter how small - I've then to transferring the £co payments as overpayments, often its just £1 a week. But it's nice to feel like I'm doing something! No matter how silly. It just keeps things funMortgage debt : -£17,000

I got both my £co declined, one because I folded it like TCB and the other because the scanner cut off the very bottom of the receipt. It said resubmit but as they had moved in to the next batch of deals I couldn't. I was already in a bad mood so they got a polite but your systems are cr&p and they said they could see I had bought the items and have given me the money
.
Might have helped that I referred to how efficient and easy TCB are.
I've been reading a few of the diaries while trying to work out what is priority order of all debts including the mortgage and I have to pay one bill first of just over £800, then it will be the mortgage, then others that are unsecured. If you read DFW its cc's and loans, if you read MFW its the mortgage to get the security and peace of mind. I hadnt really thought about the fact that once that is paid no-one can take the house off us. Every one I know just expects it to be around until you retire.
It will be slow and steady wins the race but a few years knocked off will bring peace of mind quicker (or should that be faster)50p savers club member #16 - £6.000 -
What a beautiful day! Been out in the garden for hours and have two loads of washing out on the line
OH reading his magazines and im pottering on the ipad in the sun. Bliss.
Really appreciate the peace and quiet and enjoying the birdsong after last weekend with the niece & nephew.
Have done a money shuffle into OHs new FD account, just leaves the direct debits to switch over  slow and steady is the best approach with things like this when it comes to him.hoping FD reintroduces their regular saver soon! Although nationwide's new account looks worth checking out.
Think we are either going climbing again tonight or to the cinema...... See how energetic I feel :rotfl:Mortgage debt : -£17,000

Luckynumber13- sorry, cant help with the debt priority, although perhaps it would be worth clearing the highest interest ones before tackling the mortgage, as the sooner they are cleared, the more you will have for the mortgage? But I really can't say.
It took us 5 years before we could even consider overpaying, we've managed to avoid getting in any debt, but as such it took us that long before any money could get allocated to overpaying! It's sickening how much interest we could've saved if we'd managed £50 extra in the first years when the mortgage rate was 5.4%!!!
Now we're overpaying as there's little merit in saving any money that happens to b left over at the end of the month!Mortgage debt : -£17,000

Oh no! Both me and OH have woken up with the beginnings of the flu
lazy day in doing chores I suppose.
Got my BT bill and they charged my £2 for not making the requisite number of calls of 2/month, when we made over 300 in the quarter. When I look into it, BT have charged me £2 for only making 1 call in 2 days as the bill is generated on the 3rd of the month. That's hardly fair?! Surely if they are doing that then the 'month' should go from the 4th to the 3rd, and not calendar? Definitely a bug in their billing software. Off to investigate whether its worth a phone call trying to explain it to BT or if it will auto deduct in the next billing period...Mortgage debt : -£17,000

Got £2 cleared for £co clicksnap so receipt 1/3 confirmed...no word on the bigger two cash back .
Just logged one more so fingers crossed it all works! This ones a hefty £5.70!!
This months OP has went out, £842 and I'm feeling that things will be snug this month., but didn't want to reduce the standing order. Have loads of food in so will have to have a bit of a fiscal fast this month. Hopefully I'll manage to only spend minimal amounts at the supermarket after last months £360 of groceries :eek:Mortgage debt : -£17,000

I did spot that. It is very tempting for going out for a meal with family later in the year.50p savers club member #16 - £6.000

That's a great idea! I've been saving my points but don't know what to do with them since we no longer need the train vouchers. Don't know why I didn't think of a treat. Seemed a waste to spend them on groceries. Away to look up which restaurants take club card points.
Well I got 2/3 paid out of my clicksnap with only 1 having to resubmit, which I did a few days later after my facepalm moment when I realised I'd done it wrong. Though my payout won't be going on the mortgage but back into the grocery pot. As I've spent quite a lot restocking our toiletries and pantry with good deals. The worst thing about being a quantity surveyor is I can really easily justify bulk buying and 'economies of scale':rotfl:Mortgage debt : -£17,000
