My goodness its FREEZING! October, bam its winter! Even had to scrape ice from the car this morning!

Back from hols for a few weeks, and trying to get back into the swing of things, paused the overpayments in Aug and Sept so we could go all out on our spendy hols. Mortgage is sitting at £17,000 as of 1st October. Should be £16K by the end of the week once all the normal D/D and SO clears. Hoping to then use October's salary to to get it to £13k by halloween. Interestingly that will also be the 13yr anniversary of us buying the house.

Also means that we will have Novembers and Decembers pay to hopefully enter the new year in 4 figures :)

I have decided to scale christmas back considerably this year, not just for finances, but also waste. there are some toys that have barely been played with and some clothes that have only been worn once before being grown out of. Santa will be providing experiences to be staggered throughout the year, rather than a room full of plastic toys! hopefully he will remember me this year :rotfl:

Just realised whilst updating the MFW thread that if I clear the mortgage by March 31st 2020, it will be a full 12 years to the day earlier than redemption and I'll become Mortgage free whilst i am still 35.
So theres my new target. still MF in 2020 (just not 'by') and still MF whilst 35yrs old (though hubby will have turned 36).

    Not too shabby.
