well i went into town to get my passport photo taken at one of those booths - but I didn't have enough cash on me!! £5! what a rip off! will have to get it asap - but I was shocked!
Another confession - we took the cars to the car wash - it was too cold yesterday, and I agreed with OH that I had better things to do than spend hours washing 2 very dirty cars...so we took one up yesterday whilst we were out in that one, and the other today when we nipped to the shops. So wasn't too bad as neither journeys were solely for a car wash. Still £12 poorer!
I have just realised that I coughed up (without too much guilt) £6 to have my car washed, but baulked at the £5 for a photo! And if I don't get this photo done pronto, theres a £1000 fine for an expired licence.:eek:Mortgage debt : -£17,000

Posted away my licence, :T decided £5 for 5 photos were much better than the £4.50 for one the post office was going to charge!
Also organised for an old mobile phone to be recycled £17 coming my way:)
My evening entertainment is meal planning :rotfl: joking aside its probably better than the rubbish that's on tv!

I went and jinxed the springtime walks to work.... Torrential rain today, my brolly wasn't up to the job in hand :rotfl:
Got the weekly shop in at £37 after coupons :T fridge is bursting.
Oh how I long for one of those huge American fridges that you can open standing with a door in each hand and gaze at the organised lovely fresh food with everything in its place and on display....rather than my current set up of kneeling on the floor cramming everything in, with stuff at the back getting forgotten.:o one day ill get one
Made pasta lunches using up random cupboard jars & odds n ends  not spent any food for lunches for the whole of AprilMortgage debt : -£17,000

Friends have decided to stay with us tonight (we've organised a meal and cinema night out) rather than get a taxi home.....cue several hours of tidying getting the guest bedroom sorted as I'd been using I as a sorting room as I progressed with my clear out!
Bonny day here so have got 2 loads washed and dried on the line.
That's FD confirmed that OHs account is all set up, so Hopefully he will get his £125 joining bonus soon, and I'll get my £50 referralfingers crossed!

Have had a very busy week, with not much mse
I didn't make our lunches last Sunday due to entertaining visitors, so we've each had to buy lunches....£30 and 4 days later is crazy!

A good haul from the postie today:
Got my drivers licence back
Got confirmation of my new mobile contract. Saving £120/yr :j
Got £15.30 cheque for very old mobile phone:T
Amazon delivery- OH treated me to a box set that I've been longing for for ages...3 seasons spotted on hotdeals for £9bargain!
Considering we don't get post very often, and its usually just Bills, this is brilliant
Things still to do-
- Check RBS has transferred OHs previous isa to the new one as instructed online last weekend. Done & successful
- meal plan from freezer
- minimise spends for remainder of month, as car bill is due to be paid!
Really pleased, I only spent £5.50 in asda last night on top up shop, but just realised forgot to check in on £coa whole 5p overlooked ! Although since Christmas I've got almost £8 cashback for these little check ins

Hello
Been reading your diary with interest.
Me and OH are buying a new build which will be completed in Feb/March.
I am hoping to start climbing more regularly as new house is walking distance to leisure centre.
How have you been doing since your last post?Target roughly 75% LTV before Feb/March 2021 (20% LTV = £40,999) - OP'd so far 763.51 out of 5 yr goal - £40,235.49 to go!:rotfl:0 -
So a year and a half since my last post and practically everything has changed!
After procrastinating for years, I went and did everything on the to do list in the same year  . And then decided to throw 'having a baby' in the mix too! So am now sitting here, married, a baby and a new car. all pretty anti-MSE!:rotfl: Kept on overpaying though, and our mortgage has dropped despite me being awol from the site!
Ive updated my signature to reflect the overpayments - the aim is still to get it cleared by the time I am 35 (3.5yrs to that milestone!!)
Overpayments
2014 - £11,500
2015 - £3,500
2016 - £8,500 so far...Mortgage debt : -£17,000
2019 overpayments : £23,0000 -
so I rejigged our finances and should net us some extra £££
- me and hubby each switched barely used accounts to halifax. £125 incentive + £60/yr ongoing.
- Opened a Joint rewards credit card. £25 £co, £25 incentive, and once spending starts should net £60+/yr cash back.
Although I have been spendy too.... bought (a long overdue) something, but used vouchers and £co and saved £100 off next best price
Also car tax and MOT due before AprilFingers crossed the garage bill won't be too expensive!
Have paid all our bills and moved money about with Hubby's salary, so what ever I get at the end of the month (on mat leave so not much!) will be paid into the mortgage.
Off to bed the baby and hopefully get enough time to organise the freezer and cupboards/pantry so I can meal plan and maximise a supermarket voucher.:cool:Mortgage debt : -£17,000
2019 overpayments : £23,0000
