  • You can keep the white stuff - its never enough to stop things so bad I can't get to work, but it is bad enough to make things a pain in the backside. Wish we had proper weather here like SNOW or don't bother!!!

All snow is away now. It's pretty cold tho.

Lunches cooked and prepared for next few days and had a fabulous hm rhubarb &apple crumble. Yum.

OH is away for a few days, so I'll eat up some random meals in the fridge and potter away until he comes home.

Did 2 hrs of ironing this afty too- go me!

ETA: £23 food shop in M&$ most went in freezer, and £3 something in Morrisons on some nice veg from their fresh market section. So £26 to add to my total. New grocery expenditure: £132 and we're now halfway through the month.

Bad start to the week- I bought myself a $tarbuck$. £2.80! And I didn't even enjoy it as much as I should've since it was a treat, but(even for a latte) I found it too strong. I'm not usually a coffee drinker, so I have no idea why I fancied it. I must've been impaired in some way :rotfl:

So my free lunch at the architects wasn't so free when you factor in the above discretion! :p

Gym bag packed for tomorrow :D

    I'm now 75kg :T that's 165lbs so 6lb loss in 14days :T

Had to buy lunch today as had a client meeting and couldn't rock up with suit, briefcase and pack lunch box! I need to be more organised and take in a few things (excluding a tin of soup)to the office so I don t have to have a pack up either every morning.......

Done quite a lot of £co checkins when I'm out and about recently. Aim to get the £5 fee paid from themselves!

Just did an OP Of £48.36 to tidy up the joint account. Includes recent £co payouts. :p

Love that can OP on phone with the banking apps, but hate that it doesn't show up instantly off the mortgage!

Decided to up the regular OP SO by £50 each from February. Hoping this will focus my mind a bit with the grocery shops, as I'll now effectively have £100 less in my monthly household spending account!

Am absolutely determined to shift this mortgage ASAP as I can't see things getting any better for the British economy and I found out today that my government retiring age is 68  the thought of another 40 years of work is not pleasant and that's assuming good health allows it! Very depressing thought. Lets pay off the mortgage and get out the rat race!!

That's true enough and probably the biggest motivator for all of us here, certainly me. I never wanted to buy a house, I have been forced into it because of the profit-raking greed of the "buy-to-let" market which has driven rents and house prices up through the roof to the detriment of everyone except house builders, who are happily concreting over our green and pleasant land. As I have to buy a house as its cheaper than renting, I want to do it quickly and make the least money for the mortgage company and free up enough time in my life to enjoy living, rather than working. Hope I have enough years in me!!

What gets me about new builds, is that being a Quantity Surveyor, I know how much they cost to build....and the uplift to the market value is crazy! And sometimes the quality ain't all that. I'd love to do a self build......another dream for the future!

Good news! Managed to get OH all signed up to FD this morning, once he's got all the online banking set up, we'll get the 8% saver up and running. Hopefully we can get this activated before FD 'review' the rate in February (read that on a thread somewhere).

Done quite well with the food shop this week (milk & veg) only and don a fantastically low £42 Costco shop- usually double this without a fail!!!!

Whoops! Had an indulgent weekend and this morning's weigh in wasn't pleasant- 75.5kg  so easily put on!

Also need to log an £8.61 spend at m&$ to grocery spend. Considering its now the 21st jan (10days to go!) I think I'm doing ok having spent £133 in total, though will need to see if OH has bought anything.

Hopefully will be below £200 for January :D

 we have thunder and heavy snow

Worked out that we now own 25% of our house....the foundations so to speak.:T

This mfw diary is excellent for focussing the mind and keeping me accountable, all whilst jibbering away to myself :D

Car insurance renewal due in few weeks- not only do I already have the money saved up in the joint account, but my comparison quotes appear to be £100 cheaper than usual :) wonder if this gender equality thing is a good thing for us! Though I did think the insurance for the 'new' car was expensive in December....maybe the equality thing wasn't in force by then:think:
