on Reed they are agencies that just want a CV so I send it - if it was 113 full application forms then I doubt I coudl do that and besides only probably 1-2 a week ask for a form to be filled in

    like http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/accounts-payable-executive-central-london-up-to-27000/21140982

    or

    http://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/accounts-payable-clerk-central-london-11-14ph/21139829
They are good jobs but I would not apply just by sending a CV. find the recruitment agents email address and phone number and email and ring them directly. When speaking with them make sure you highlight you are the best the person for the job repeat your name and then email them thanking them for the time spent talking to you on the phone. I seem to get a better response rate when I do that.

I would then apply via the link on the agency website rather than the reed website. http://www.ashdowngroup.com/job/accounts-payable-executive-central-london-jobid-ash09233pc
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Be nice to be able to afford the calls every day but I can't as I wouldn't then be able to pay the phone bill. When the email via Reed has gone to them I get an email giving me the recruiters email address to which I follow up with my references and a chase up email 3 days later.

I have been applying for jobs since being made redundant in November. Not had any interviews. I have had my CV checked and told it was fine so I am guessing that as I'm 50 employers would prefer a younger person with the same skills?

I apply for between 4-6 jobs a week depending on what is available - I am registered on all the job sites including Caterer.com and have registered with some agencies (some have told me I am unemployable:mad:). I am an event manager - no jobs in my area for them because we have been hit by the recession, I cannot relocate to London. I have secretarial skills too so apply for those type of jobs as well.

I may just see if I can resurrect my business in a slightly different format so that I can earn some money. I am having to apply for all types of jobs even those paying £14K so that I can then get working tax credits to top up.

I always dress as though I am going to an interview when I go to the jobcentre and have found that I do get slightly more help. I am due to start a 4 week course at a local college on Monday - I have to go attend otherwise I will lose benefits but fingers crossed some temp work may come my way. I am fearful that this course will mainly entail sitting on backside doing nowt because I already know how to read and write.

I fail to see the point in these courses, I mean surly they are easily able to filter out who does and doesn't need the help. Its a waste of everyones time.

I have applied for about 15 jobs in the last fortnight and i put a 15 mile radius as that is the optimum distance for me to afford travelling costs anymore distance is out of the question if i get more than minimum wage then i maybe can afford a bit further.

for the first time in god only knows how long I can match you today.

    I've applied for 5 jobs today!!! 5!!!!!! :j

I went to the work program offices and spent an hour and a half using their crappy computers not finding a single job I could apply for, then when I got home I got an email off the council with a load of admin and library assistant jobs so I applied for them all

mine too, a couple of them are quite far away and will take me well over an hour to get to on the bus but I'd still take it in a heart beat if I were lucky enough to get offered one.
