  • Update, surveyor actually arrived:j I have to pay £125 as apparently a lot of the insulation is missing from the loft and is not of an adequate depth. I thought the price was excellent. I take it I must have got some kind of grant but don't know what it would be as I was not eligible for any that were stated on the list. Never mind, I am definitely not complaining, well worth £125:T
  • I heard recently that these grants available will be going down in value from next year.
  • Is there anything for people living in Housing Assosiation property? i rang to ask about cavity wall and they said they dont do it!!!! Iwould pay for some of it myself but all these schemes are private tenant and home owners. Is there anything i can do i live in Derbyshire
  • Are you aware you don't have to be on benefits to get a home insulation grant, you just need to be a home owner or a private tenant - Warm Front are government funded, we offer full insulation and help you get the grants visit Viscount-insulation online to find out more
  • Had my cavity wall insulation fitted today. It took 6 and a half hours in total! Obviously won't know if there is any benefit until I get my gas bill!
  • :jLoft insulation being fitted on 9 January:T:T
  • Loft insulation installed this afternoon:j It is so much thicker than the old stuff so it should do a much better job.
  • I have been used polyurea spray for my house wall and roof insulation. Its result are excellent.
Providing high elongation and tear strength, excellent low temperature flexibility and superior tensile strength, these systems will provide a permanent, long-lasting monolithic coating working as a good insulation..

  • I rent privately and at the moment get jsa and hb due to recently ending a work contract, being ended that is not me ending it lol

Rang up company regarding a grant about 3 weeks ago and cavity wall fitters from Wellwarm have turned up this morning actually on time

Only problem is,,, they drilled form my garage to my living room and apparently discovered a " single wall" so have gone straight through to my living room and knocked plaster off and left a hole :( Then had noticed a trowel etc in garage as bf leaves his tools here and is a painter and decorator, and said to me to " get him to plaster it up"

Not sure how long this process takes but think i ought to be checking rest of my house when im gone, cant help but feel if i wasnt a woman alone in the house they wouldnt have had the same attitude,

Having my loft insulated on tuesday morning too 200mm apparently right now i have 80mm so hoping it will be a big big difference this winter

By the way due to me being on benefits i received all of this for free and got told when its done to get in touch witih warmfront regarding windows and new boiler
