If it was their mistake then they should remove any late payments. If not and if there are just a few missed payments it probably won't have much of an impact on your credit rating, but it's less than ideal. Your other option would be to add a note to your credit report explaining what happened. You would simply send the note to us (up to 200 words, not defamatory etc).

  • thank you james I have never missed a payment or paid anything late in over 30 years and went onto mysupermarket website, when I put details in to see which credit card I could get because i was looking for a 0% deal it came back with none.

it is definitely orange who have created the problem because when I put my husbands info into the website his rating was still excellent and he take his pick of credit cards.

orange keep sending me stuff saying how good they are, yeh who for me or them, as you can see I am still livid.

Well you've not really helped yourself either.

You haven't log in to your account for 4 months and you haven't obviously kept an eye on your bank account for at least 4 months either, otherwise you would have seen that the money wasn't coming out.

You seem to just be trying to make excuses, forgot password and what has Xmas got to do with it either, 4 months means back in October at the latest, plus even if it was December these things are still set up swiftly.

Sorry but you need to shoulder some of the blame and most definately keep a closer eye on your finances.

A similar thing happened to me but it wasn't my fault, two things went wrong with my direct debit for Orange.

    1. 1 Missed payment marker on my credit report for 20p that wasn't automatically taken via DD for November. I though the direct debit should always be taken out in Full all the time. Why miss 20p off?

    2. I changed my direct debit from one bank account to my new one and they cancelled my old DD for my new one but didn't take payment for December out of my account. This hasn't appeared on my credit report, I have told them to take double payment for February.

When I rang them about it, the CSA told me to make sure they take the 1 missed payment off my credit report once payment has been made as it wasn't my fault.

As far as I am aware, they will be removing the '1 Missed Payment' from my credit report when it is eventually paid.

  • forzm I do take some responsability, I did check my bank statements and did notice the payments had not been taken but I was allowing them to take the time to set everything up.....yes....nieve....but they never even bothered to contact me...remember I do have an orange phone number!!!!!!!!!!....they could have contacted me.....they never wrote to me....I foolishly allowed them too much time to get themselves sorted.....the money was ALWAYS available to them in my account.
so I am stupid for allowing a stupid company to blacklist me....this does not make the lack of communication from them acceptable and they musty also shoulder some of the blame....which at present they are NOT

i actually think these notice of correction are a waste of time since they are often ignored by the lender and stop you getting instant credit as the lender must refer it for manual underwriting so an underwriter has to read to it.

Phil you seem to forget that they also stop automatic declines. And lenders have to read them but are under no obligation to act on the content.

4 months... need to take some personal responsibility there I think. If your not being posted bill, they can be accessed online. Again... its up to you to read the bill. Though I am surprised the phone was not shut off.

If you can get orange to admit it was there fault then you can push for the information to be removed from the credit file. PS a few late payments on your credit file should not cause a major issue as time goes by...
If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...
  • curr946 yes the reply is same as fomz above about taking responsability..how do you get into an account without passwords.....requested over and over and I still cannot get into the account...so how do I read a bill, take action if I cannot get into the account...
they sent numerous responses to my request but I could not and still cannot log in after them changing the password today.
if your hands are tied behind your back how do you put the key in the lock???
how do you read the bill....how do you read any correspondence....do you keep trying to access the account as I did....just pay them any amount???? maybe give them an open cheque. talk to the people at the other end who do not know enough to help.

if they had shut the phone off at least I would have known there was a problem......
no letters recived to say payup or else.....nothing, this is what is so frustrating, they just sent letters to say how great they are.

I have only ever had PAYG phones in the past, had no idea how things worked otherwise...if you dont know you should not have to learn the hard way.
