    Two UU's today

    Knayton Hall edp
    - I got this in a set that came with a dressing gown. It smells very similiar to Gucci eau de parfum II (pink bottle). I really liked this scent, if I saw it again on clearance at tk maxx, I may get it again.

    Yardley's English Daisy sample
    - WBA, cheap and lovely

I got a few free samples in the mail today.
2x nivea body lotion and skincare samples

    Forgot to mention one GA:
SpaceNK Laugher (15ml) - it was nice, but not for me.

    Well, that's it - I've done my 28 pages.

TBH I had done it at 4pm, written a lovely reply, then lost connection as I pressed 'send', so it was lost in the ether......

    Now to try again -

Welcome to all newbies - you will find yourself in good company here.

I have had a few UU in the time I have been away - can't for the life of remember exactly what they were. But, one face cream, one shampoo and one conditioner. Had to purchase hair care, as I had none 'in stock'. But had a PCMC in the draw, so I'm now using that.

I'm quite excited about this secret easter bunny thing - I was MIA towards the end of last year, so missed secret santa!

In the spirit of becoming more organised, I have decided to 'tackle' my make-up box(s). Some of the stuff in there I have had since before I moved into my currnet home - I have been here since 2005 :eek::eek: Think it's time to say goodbye!

I'm still keeping up with my £1 in the pot for every UU and £5 in the pot for every TSV I manage to resist. All money goes into my Vegas fund, to 'fund' extravagensies in Las Vegas in Sept!! Thank you Kiplingmonkey for keeping check on me:D

Willowbee - that is one impressive stash list to achieve without the aid of QVC prices. Please, don't be tempted to get on that slippery slope - it's all downhill.

Also - Creme Tomate, how is it??? I have wanted to try it, but never had.

Forgot to add -so far this year I have not bought a single TSV :A I'm sure this situation will change when the LG TSV is on towards the end of the month. But I do need B&B, so it's s good thing really:rotfl:

I'm so excited - I have 2 UU's - maybe not a huge amount but the pile is going down (and no in's either:)).

    They were:

Aveda Shampure 1 litre - WIBA? - yes, it last hubby ages and saves him a)complaining that I buy good toiletries for me and supermarket value for him and b) avoids having lots of empty bottles to throw out.

my other UU was a Molton Brown Shower wash - Vitamin AB+C. WIBA? - yes, it was lovely and lasted ages despite both of us using it daily.

I've also had a couple of UU bars of hotel soap but that is the never diminishing pile so I don't think they count!!!

  • Willowbee - I feel your pain about being tempted as I wondered how I would be when I first started on this thread. However, like some of the others, I actually feel a sense of achievement when I actually finish something (lol) or go into a shop and not buy something. This thread makes you think a bit more before you buy anything, for me anyway. One thing I noticed in your stash was that a couple of products irritated your skin - I would bin those if I was you and use the other things instead.

On another note, I have another UU today - Clinique Comforting Cream Cleanser - I'm sad because I love this product and my skin too but it's £15.00 and lasts less than 7 weeks so I can't afford it anymore, and I have lots of other cleansers in my stash. So onwards and upwards onto something else.
I looked at my Badger lipsalve today as I knew i'd been using it for a while and was shocked when the manufacturing date said 2005. Good grief that's lasted well - but I'll bin it now before I catch something horrible! WBA? yes but have others in stash to use first.

  • Welcome to all newbies :D

Well I've got two more UU:
Sachet of mystery face wash/cleanser came in Glamour magazine wnba found it quite drying but I'm quite interested in finding out what it is. I don't count sachets in my stash list but put 10p in my pot for every one I use up.

TBS Papaya Body Butter wba but don't need too as I have 3 more in my stash. I love the fragrance and can still smell it hours later on to a cranberry one that I'm not really liking.

    241 products to go:eek:

The thing that keeps me on the straight and narrow with this challenge is the gradual finishing off of my house. As it was a total wreck when we moved in, we had many years of boxes everywhere. It was very difficult to know what to put where and things got lost or jumbled up. I had a house absolutely rammed full of stuff and know that because of this, I have wasted oh so much money with things going off or getting ruined in building work.
As each room got finished I was able to create a dedicated space for each item or type of item. Our bedroom was done in 2010 and as that is where I keep all of my toiletries stash (in a drawer under DH's side of the bed), I keep tabs on it that it doesn't get too full up. I started this challenge at the very beginning and separated all of our toiletries stuff into types. I then stored all of these in the millions of toiletries bags, wicker baskets and carrier bags which were lying around. The shame of having a grotty carrier bag full of shower gel on the bathroom floor stopped me from buying any more and the relief when I was able to throw it away was immense. I was then able to consolidate to a wicker basket on the bathroom floor. This housed all of our products in a somewhat haphazard manner until our room was done.
DH and I cleared out our very large cupboard on the landing in January and have moved all of the towels into there to live so now the bathroom floor is clear. One day, I may be able to persuade DH that we can have a shower as I really hate not having one.

Towards the start of last year, I was getting very low on most types of products when TBS offer came up so I bought 3 sets at £19 odd and then did the old juggle to maximise my order, get the £5 voucher off and get free delivery. The stuff is still keeping us going now despite having used some of it for gifts (not much, I didn't really want to part with any of it TBH :o!
This is how I will try to do my toiletries buying from now on, keep an eagle eye on the stocks and then when there is a superb offer, buy it in bulk. But never overfill the drawer!
I stay away from toiletries shops as I still get sucked in. I don't go down the toiletries aisle in the supermarkets except when I need a specific item. If it's something like toothpaste I need, I get DH to get it because he's less likely to buy the entire shelf "because it was on offer" :).

For instance, now, I am getting low on shampoo and will need to purchase some in the near future so the other night I looked to see where our shampoo of choice was on offer. We like alberto balsam and it's generally on 4 for £3 somewhere. This time it's Asda. P*o, I've been there tonight and I didn't get any!

I stay around here because I like it and I like the chat. I also think that if I don't stay her, I will start slipping into old habits.
I don't want to do that because we are just over a year away from clearing our mortgage and money and everything else is really tight at the moment and I'd be so cross if I lost my job and had to sit in the house in the cold looking at mountains of rubbish I'd wasted money on :o.

Had some Nivea face/body samples arrive - just little sachets. I think these were on FB. I've got something to pick up from the sorting office that arrived and it may be a full-sized freebie shampoo :o or a full sized freebie deo.
I had a mammogram first thing this morning and followed advice not to smear myself with any products as you have to wipe it all off beforehand. To save a fair whack in taxi fares I took the trike and boy did I get warm, as the only steep hill in the district is on the route. I used to cycle it daily seven years ago.

To anyone yet to have a mammogram, this is the second I've had and both involved very little discomfort.
I realise everybody is different, but having had some horror stories fed to me of crushed boobs, I was pleasantly surprised. Having my eyebrows threaded was higher on the pain scale for me.
