I've subscribed to the Amarya beauty box from net month,I was thinking that a beauty box would make a good birthday gift for my sister but don't really want to spend the amount it costs for a 6 month or 1 year subscription for her, are there any other beauty boxes where you can purchase a one, two or three month subscription as a gift?

I found the no buying easier as the weeks go by, a certain sense of triumph each time I walk out of a shop or watch a QVC presentation without buying. I am compiling a wish list ready for when I have UU and can buy again. I also delete all the promo (tempting) e-mails from my in-box without reading them.

  • What a lovely gift :j

I subscribe to Carmine & they do 3 or 6 month gift subs (I've been v happy with the boxes so far. They're biased towards make-up more than skincare).

I also subscribe to JolieBox (used to be Boudoir Prive) and I've really loved every box but they're a little chaotic & they don't do fixed gift subs.

There is a new one called She Said Beauty and they're offering a reduced three month subscription. I've no idea what they'll be like but the first few boxes tend to be good to get people interested. I might give them a try...

I used to subscribe to GlossyBox but I really didn't like the way that they treated their customers and had some really disappointing boxes.

    HTH!

Thank. You so much off for a browse, she loves makeup and skincare, so thought this would be a nice treat.

Well there is no way I will be able to catch up with all the blathering you lot have done this month so I'll just say 'Congrats, Hugs and Welcomes' to all who all need/deserve them :p

It's been a hectic, exhausting month so far but slowly the house is looking liveable in again! I've re-sorted my entire stash and have donated a few bits to charity and thrown out an awful lot of half used samples, minatures, things I think are older than the dog etc :rotfl: So now everything I have in stash will actually get used - hopefully this year :o

    I have a couple of IN's:

2 x L'oreal Gel Toner: These were free with a voucher
30ml L'occiataine Shea Butter Handcream: Free with voucher and already in use.
Spiced Vanilla Handwash and Handcream in a caddy thing from TKMaxx - 20p in their final clearance sale so couldn't resist :rotfl:

So just 20p spent in total so a fleeting bum perch on the naughty step for me :p

    UU's are:

BS Spiced Vanilla Handcream: WIBA? Yep - have one in stash and I know OH has one in the pressie cupboard :p
BS Spiced Vanilla Showergel: WIBA? Yep - I have two left in stash and one 'on-the-go'
Blistex Raspberry and Lemonade Lipbalm: WIBA? No - tasted lovely and the first haf was nice to use - then it all got a bit gooey :(
Unknown Tester Day Face Cream: WIBA? No - Didn't like it all.
S&G Clean Mary Cleanser 75ml: WIBA? Yep! have one large bottle in stash so may have to go ebay shopping as (as we all know!) it has been discontinued. otherwise it is time to find a new HG :(
Boots Cucumber Toner: WIBA? Yes - I like the fragrance and it does the job. Cheap too :D
Champneys Face Serum; WIBA? Hmmmm? I'm gonna get one for my toiletries bag as all the other bits in their are champneys but think I would rather have the S&G or Aldi one for everyday. It doesn't give any notice of finishing just suddenly stops dead :rotfl:
Avon Brightening Hand Cream: WIBA? I have one in stash but probably wouldn't buy again as it's a bit runny for my liking.

So that's everything upto date :D I managed to get loads of bargains in the 90% Boots sales to finish off the 2012 xmas/birthday shopping and bought nothing for me (well - except some yummy Gu chocolate crackers lol!) Very proud :T

Now everything is sorted it should be easy for me to do a stash list soon.

Hope all are well - looking forward to the Easter Swap :D

Dollypop - I have one Zoya nail varnish (from a beauty box) and I love it. Lucky you having three new ones :) Your body lotion buy sounds like a real bargain and despite having just listed my stash it sounds tempting, which is why I'm here (!) \How on earth does everyone resist bargains.

Do you subscribe to Amarya? That's where I got my first one from last week and I loved it :D hence the stocking up!

The body lotions were a bargain which is how I get drawn in! I got the last three in my store, if your lucky your store will have run out and you won't be tempted, there was no SEL so I asked an assistant to price check for me :D I really need to stay out of Boots :D

I cant tremember who it was that mentioned the BS deoderant didnt really, well, de smell... but I would like to share with you all that tonight I really really stink. Today was a quiet day with lots of sitting down and writing essays, and I had a bath last night, but I could knock out an elephant...

We shant be buying that again! So Who knows a good roll on? I cant really use sprays they make me sneeze like a nutter =)

I got a roll-on to test a few months ago and absolutely loved it - dryness, no smell and no white marks. Based on the shape of the bottle I suspect it was a Sure one but not sure which out of their range. There's one they're advertising on telly at the moment so it might be that.

I'm back on the Mitchum roll-ons now and it does stop smelling but it takes years to dry and I keep getting white marks on my tops :(

    Hi ladies!

Another UU: Boots Garden Collection Lavender Hand Lotion.

WIBA? I'm not a massive fan of lavender, but I must admit I was impressed with the quality of it: I expected it to be a bit rubbish, but it was nicely thick and felt really good when I put it on. (Wonder if they do it in a different flavour?

I have a question: did you all make a list ?
I think this would take me too long as i have literally hundreds of products in my bathroom . I was thinking maybe i just start by clearing one box at a time.

Like FannyAdams, I reorganised. My strategy was to put like things together with like--all bodywashes together, all nail things together, etc. If you have a lot of 'like' things, then subdivide. So all travel shampoos live in their own ziploc freezer bags while travel conditioners live in a different one, and then all these smaller sets all live together in one 'travel' box. (Just take care if anything could spill, that it lives in a box standing up rather than a bag.)

The other thing I wasn't sure about--I love cute little organising sets and boxes, but rather than fall into the trap of over-organising, I started in a basic way. I used spare cardboard boxes (mainly from the kitchen, food packaging that was re-purposed) and clear freezer bags as a first step, just to see everything, and then to use it like that for 6 months before I allow myself anything more permanent, as the point is clear shelf space rather than organizers that I must refill. :A

Let us know what ends up working for you, could always use some tips. :)
