Yeah I have. I wish more cinemas would start turning people away after 6:30

I HATE arriving at a cinema nice and early to get decent seats, only to be disturbed/asked to move (which I dont) so someone who has come in at 6:45 can sit next to his missus - JOG ON!

Agreed with the above even when I actually pay for a film. You know what time it starts so bloody turn up on time!

Not seen this but can imagine it would be annoying at a freebie too. I get just as peeved when friends can't get tickets for a movie then it's a third full (people booking and no showing, grrrr)

Just got back from seeing Fast Girls at Ashton Cineworld - what a carry-on!!!

We arrived and handed over out tickets from First4movies to be told that they didn't know what they were. They sent for a manager who said that the screening was for Cineworlds own customers and they had not heard anything about another screening. He went away and after about 20 mins came back and said that other Cineworlds were experiencing the same problems (First4movies customers turning up)!!

He said there was nothing he could do as the screening had been booked for their customers. I asked how full it was as it was 10 to 9 by then. He went away again and came back and said that he would let us in as it wasn't our fault but that we might have trouble finding a seat and that he would be challanging whoever had issued the tickets!!

When we went into the screening there were approx 12 people, by the time the film started there were 20 including myself and DD!! No one else came in!!!

It's the first time I have used First4movies, has anyone else had a similar problem?

PS I had seen one or two trailers of the film and thought it looked a little boring, but we actually enjoyed it.

Just got back from seeing FastGirls at Milton Keynes, staff on desk had no idea what to do but supervisor said yes put as 'comp' (presume complimentary) and tickets were printed. Must have been 20 to 30 people in there.

I went to see Rock of Ages last night... actually much better than I thought it would be.

As for F4M, I've used them before and never had a problem, but they are very few and far between

For the first time ever, I saw people being turned away at the Rock of Ages screening last night at Finchley Road Vue as they were completely full (and during/just at the end of an England game too!)

I was disappointed in some of the people though, who got very stroppy, demanding compensation and vouchers and insisting on chairs so they could sit in the handicapped space; it's a free movie, and if you want to be sure of a seat, arrive earlier than 2 minutes before the start time, surely!

Anyone else ever seen people turned away due to capacity?
we were surprised that trafford centre was full and saw people coming in and going out so not sure how many were turned away as we got there just before start time we usually go half hour before but had hospital appointment

This happens pretty much on a regular basis when I see a freebie film . The other thing that annoys me is when people are still having a conversation when the film starts and then keep chatting for ages, just shut up and watch the film, arghhhh:mad:

Anyway, I saw Rock of Ages on Tuesday and it was great, it took me back to my teens (that makes me feel really old :o), awesome music which coincidentally I was listening to the originals on my mp3 that day, but my mp3 is filled with 80's rock :rotfl:

Next film is Killer Joe with Sky

I saw my first ever free screening last night - Friends With Kids at Showcase in Nottingham.

I must say that Showcase is by far my favourite of the leading cinema chains - much more comfortable seats, more leg room, bigger screens, more polite staff and generally a better atmosphere and experience.

The film itself was decent too - predictable but it had everything you'd need from a Hollywood chick flick. All in all a very good 'first time' and Killer Joe is to come in a couple of weeks at Cineworld. Does anyone know how frequent the Showcase showings are? (I much prefer it to Cineworld.)
