I agree.
I've been after Saving Mr Banks tickets for weeks and was left rather miffed to find when my home town cinema finally appeared it was for invited guests only:mad:. So I took direct action... PM me if you want to know more.
Take heart, if your cinema finally appeared on this list, the chances are that there will be tickets for general release too. That's what normally happens.0 -
I think you're overreacting a little bit on the frustration front. I clicked on the link too, chose my cinema and signed in and was met with the 'Invited guests only' message. Said, "oh well" and closed the page. Took all of 30 seconds.
If I had know it was invited guests only I wouldn't have bothered, but I think I can live with that wasted 30 seconds of my time over the numerous times I'd have to log in to see what I thought were codes, that turned out to be people having a chat about it being invited guests only.
I did not use the word "frustration" originally. I was responding to Poochface's reply.
I remember now why I stopped reading this thread. It used to have fun reviews and was interesting to read.0 -
The original comment wasn't posted to cause yet more bickering, it was to point out that there are pros and cons to posting codes for VIP and/or Invited Guest List only.0

Saw Saving Mr. Banks this morning.
We (in our 60s) did enjoy it (OH had tears in his eyes more than once apparently).
It was about Walt Disney's ability with people as well as P L Travers. Two hours + long including the credits (which are worth staying for to the end).
However I'm not sure what youngish children would make of it and how they would follow the switching from 1906 to 1961. There was some noisy giggling from one part of the audience and they did leave the screening fairly early on. One woman also took her babe in arms out as it was crying but returned later when it was quiet again.0 -

I saw it this morning with my partner, we are both 52 and were both crying - absolutely brilliant film. WOW! not at all what I expected,I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -
I'm 42 my daughter is 14 and we saw Saving Mr Banks this morning, both really enjoyed it. Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks were both really great, I would recommend but agree not for young children. I also shed a few tears0

Don't you think the cinemas are missing a trick by not showing Mary Poppins on the big screen to tie in with the release of Saving Mr Banks? I haven't seen it at the cinema since I was a very young child. Many adults won't have had the joy of that experience.0

Also saw Saving Mr Banks today and loved it Cried too.
Thought all the actors/actresses were wonderful.
Agree with what others have said that I do not think children would enjoy it.
Hope it wins an Oscar.Be Lucky Everyone0
