Cinema Only Free Tickets Discussion thread

That kind of post should be posted on here though as often we then get follow up posts of Tickets now gone.
If you miss out on a code, you should know to keep checking on a regular basis. Often by the time someone has posted to tell us there are a few tickets available, they have gone. But it adds to the clutter and we end up with several pages for just two or three films and codes.
This is what used to happen in the past and it was a total nightmare.Sarah just posted on the codes thread that she doesn't want people posting about re-released tickets. I PM'ed her and actually she has not decided, but wants us to thrash it out.
I agree it's no good to get constant updates on tickets that are obviously still available. But if all tickets are gone for a code, and they later come back, I want to know about it! That's in effect a new code, but one that most people won't know about. I've gotten tickets that way that I missed out on, so I appreciate when people take the time to post.
Agreed?
(BTW thanks as always to all the posters, you guys rock!).0 -
To change the subject from all the whatnoting above - can i try and be more constructive?
The codes only thread - had codes deleted recently - with the apparent logic that ...well it wasn't logical!
New tickets had become available - the code was reposed telling us that - i got tickets from the reposting/new release and realy apprecaited it.
I thought the point of the codes on board was that it gave us available codes....apparently not.
Apparently we're meant to follow the discussions thread (which i don't) if we want to know about codes..
Ever get the feeling someone has to much power and is becoming rather silly?
IMHO a code that had expired, and now has more seats released, is as good as a new code - otherwise we all have to keep trying old codes in hope - and life is to short.
Please if anyone actualy has a say in this - can the nice people who occasionally re-post a code, with a note saying more tickets are available, get some appreciation for their efforts - stop deleting and leave their post on the 'codes only' board.
Rant over.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

no chat but if new codes become available put them on the codes page xx0

The only argument I can see is that it encourages people so send pointless extra posts. So maybe make it clear in the rules that 'new tickets released' is OK, but updates on tickets already available & tickets run out isn't. Yes we'll have a few battles with newbies etc, but I'd rather have a few wasted emails than miss out on films. And repeat offenders will learn, like they did with unwanted chat (most of the time).
Example, I recently posted about tickets that were available for a code that was well out of date (I think nearly a month). I would never have checked that normally - would anyone else? Didn't want those to go to waste.
As for checking pages that are gone myself - I do sometimes, but only for films I really want to see. Most of the time it's not worth the hassle, especially as SFF tends to throw you out of pages that have run out. You could also say 'if you really want tickets, check all the other sites too'. The point of the codes thread is that we don't have to .0 -
How rude! The Board Guide who deleted the chat on Codes Only is doing exactly what we originally agreed on here in the past!
This is why she has now opened it up for discussion again.
If you are so bothered about getting tickets, why don't you keep checking? What you are effectively saying is that you are too lazy to check for you own tickets but you are quite willing for other people to do it on your behalf and tell you about it!littlejaffa wrote: »To change the subject from all the whatnoting above - can i try and be more constructive?

Having an opinion is not rude and you might want to control your exclimation key before commenting on anyone else's 'bothered' levels.
What i am directly saying is that if someone is so kind to post a valid code on the codes board we should apprecaite it (as many people have done by clicking the thanks button).
I do not expect to have to check a conversaion thread - if we have a codes only thread it should be posted there. I said what i meant in my original thread and your 'lazy' comments are neither accurate nor helpful.
Lets thank the people who make an effort to post a valid code rather than deleting/abusing them.Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.

Of course! That's the whole point of the codes thread!. It (brilliantly) gives us news of free tickets, so we don't have to find them ourselves.
Hanging out in chat and reading through the often large amount of messages just to get news of new tickets defeats the object, doesn't it Pooch?0 -
Check your original post and you will see that you are au fait with the "exclamation mark" too
And as for rudeness.
Ever get the feeling someone has to much power and is becoming rather silly?
I find that to be rude and hardly a helpful comment!!!!!!!!
( is that enough exclamations for you) :rotfl:littlejaffa wrote: »Having an opinion is not rude and you might want to control your exclimation key before commenting on anyone else's 'bothered' levels.

I do not expect to have to check a conversaion thread that specifically says no codes when i'm looking for codes and think - if we have a codes only thread it should be posted there. I said what i meant in my origianl thread and your 'lazy' comments are neither accurate nor helpful.
