Cinema Chat/Codes Poll

Right Guys

So we dont clog up the discussion thread with this discussion.

Here is a poll so you can all decide about whether 'more tickets available' 'tickets all gone' etc should go on the cinema codes thread or the discussion thread.

We are specifically talking about a code that had already been posted and is then re posted with 'more tickets available' or 'all gone'

Its your decision guys as you are the people that use the thread frequently.

'More tickets available' - Yes, as it's nice to know that there are tickets available again for old codes which you wouldn't bother checking, or have checked numerous times to no avail.

'All gone' - No. There is absolutely no point. All tickets will obviously sell out at some point, there is no need to tell everyone.

If tickets become available again I vote it should be on the codes only thread otherwise it defeats the object of having an alert only for the codes only thread.

Whilst on the subject I also think the codes thread should be made a sticky again.

I don't see the point of having a sticky telling us that codes is no longer a sticky :rotfl:

MSE Andrea has said that we have the maximum number of stickies already so couldnt make the chat and the codes both stickies which is why she made the sticky linking both posts.

My recent personal experience might help people to make their vote.

For once I missed out on a code, in this case for Life of Pi via Sky.
I checked Sky yesterday and to my delight, I was able to obtain two tickets. I then tried again but I must have grabbed the last two tickets available as it was now saying full.

Now if I had posted on Codes only to alert thousands that there were more tickets available, all I would have been doing is announcing that I managed to get the last two tickets for Liverpool. What help would that have been? None at all.

I didn’t need someone post that there were more tickets available, I checked all by myself. Amazing what a bit of initiative does for you.

Without determining what defines a "MORE TICKETS AVAILABLE" post this poll is pointless

If I've tried and failed to get tickets on a specific code for 30 attempts (10 times a day for 3 days running) but then I successfully get a pair with the 31st attempt on the 4th day do I make a post to let everyone know ?
After all, MORE tickets MUST have become available otherwise I wouldn't have picked up any would I ?

On this basis it's VERY likely the Codes Only will be getting DOZENS of posts every day

I think Andrea is pulling your leg
Theres only 6 stickies here and theres 7 on some such as Bankrupt, Discount vouchers etc etc

Maybe so using the example you quote however I have on some occasions found situations where all tickets for all area's have gone and then a day or two later they all become available again.

So in that sitauation do you be a spoiler and keep it to yourself or do you alert fellow members that they are available again.

I know what I would do as I've done it before and I would do the same again and post on the codes thread

Fine, in future I will post each and every time there is one or two tickets available for Liverpool and surrounding areas regardless of the fact there are none available for anywhere else. That way you'll be happy with all the alerts will you?

Am I missing something here why are people moaning,If I had the chance of obtaining FREE tickets and the only downside was a load of emails to alert me that more were possibly available,then I know what option I'd choose.

I'm usually too late and miss them on here & seem to see them on HUKD but I'm very happy that people take the time to post them even if there's only a slight chance I'll get any & if I have more emails to delete etc as a consequence then what's the problem,I'm baffled.

She is not pulling my leg, Andrea has made the sticky so it was her decision.
