Cinema Chat/Codes Poll

'More tickets available' - Yes, as it's nice to know that there are tickets available again for old codes which you wouldn't bother checking, or have checked numerous times to no avail.

'All gone' - No. There is absolutely no point. All tickets will obviously sell out at some point, there is no need to tell everyone.

I agree with this. I don't want to know when the tickets have all gone, but I am happy to find out when tickets are available again in case I missed them the first time round.
  • Hi. If more tickets become available for a code that's already posted then yes, it should be on the code thread. It's nice to know when more tickets have been released for movies that I originally missed I.e. Sky tickets.

As for the 'none available', there's no point; we'll find out for ourselves!!!!
  • The point of the thread is so people can get tickets to films so if some come available then I think they should be posted again. Some common sense, as ever, should be used about reposting just a couple of tickets for one location. It's common that one code gets full and then more tickets for that code are released nationwide. It should be for that.

I agree, common sense needed here. If new tickets become available on a code which was previously full-up / unavailable then in my mind it's basically a new code and really useful to hear about - so regular posters could let us know.

Anything else - particularly "no tickets left" or if someone just managed to get tickets for a code which only has tickets left for Liverpool (to use the example), belongs on chat. Because that's not useful info.

Can we have a vote on JUST "new tickets released on same code" please?

Love this thread by the way - all the regular code posters deserve great credit.

Without determining what defines a "MORE TICKETS AVAILABLE" post this poll is pointless

If I've tried and failed to get tickets on a specific code for 30 attempts (10 times a day for 3 days running) but then I successfully get a pair with the 31st attempt on the 4th day do I make a post to let everyone know ?
After all, MORE tickets MUST have become available otherwise I wouldn't have picked up any would I ?

On this basis it's VERY likely the Codes Only will be getting DOZENS of posts every day

Been there, done that & have the t-shirt re trying and trying and trying and finally succeeding ( or still failing) to get tickets.

    BUT

Personally I think there is a huge difference in finally managing to get an elusive ticket for your cinema,
    and
logging on and finding "availability" at all/numerous locations.
With many of the codes it is obvious about which cinema has availability.

Even for those where general availability is not obvious, for example SKY, there has been numerous occasions where they seem to have released a 'limited' number of tickets, and then later released another batch for all/several locations.

Speaking personally I would prefer to have posting on the code thread when
    1) A new code is posted
    2) More tickets are available

I do not want posts on the code thread to tell me
    3) No availability
    4) I have just returned 2 tickets for XYZ film at Norwich next week.
This type of posting can go on the Chat thread.

So I therefore cannot vote as I agree with neither option - sorry Sarah1972

p.s Hate, hate, hate "no availability" posts on the code thread.
For less experienced MSErs it will put them off even trying the code - whereas us old hands know there is always a chance of getting an odd ticket even up to minutes before screening time.
  • OK, now I'm sort of confused. Obviously most people don't want the code thread to become a chat thread, with 'all gone' or 'I've returned two tickets for Little Bogsworth Odeon' posts. What we were actually talking about is the occasions where hundreds more tickets get released, so that two or three days after the original post, it's showing as 'Available' in multiple locations, having previously been 'not available'. I accept that there's a degree of subjectivity in this.
Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.
  • Voted yes for info on fresh releases on previous codes on the 'codes only' thread. Would prefer not to have 'all gone' messages in 'codes only'. It's not helpful.
    Thanks for creating the poll!

Do you want "REMINDERS" as well ?

There's a code on CODES only that been there 4 days, HAS NEVER "RUN OUT" of tickets (all gone "Not Available") since it was posted.

It STILL has tickets available for 9 out of the 20 locations WITHOUT a "New Release" of them

Do you want me (and others) constantly posting that a code has loads of tickets left just because I keep checking codes and others can't be bothered ?

  • What about having a separate "More tickets available" thread?

That would just make an already complicated issue even more complicated; now we have 3 threads to check? It's just silly.
