Hi Everyone! I'm back after a break of more than 6 months.....Still striving towards my target only 20 months to go!! Just needed to get back focused, got 2 bars jobs now on top of my main job, just feel like i'm slipping back to my old ways of wasting money having now got a little surplus cash! So i think a few NSD and joining back up will get me back focused on becoming debt free by Oct 2013 if not before!! Please can you put me down for £120.00
ThanksDebt free since July 2013 - Saving for a rainy day ☔️☔️☀️☀️0 -
Hi all on the new thread.
I've already started as of Friday on my February challenge. I have to tot up what I've spent so far as I went a bit mad on the weekend - well as mad as I ever get (not very.)
Still running down my freezer stash. NSD again today, used up the last of my vegetarian pasties for tea.
Looking forward to the updates again. Last month kept me on the straight and narrow so long may it continueSeparated 17/06/10, now dealing with the falloutHouse sold and debt cleared 23rd May 2014. Now saving to get married!Current savings £00 -
Hi all
After a successful January I am very motivated and would like to set my budget for February at £325.00. Realistically I should be able to come in under this as I am going to be away for part of the month (separate budget).
Good luck to everyone in February!GROCERY CHALLENGEJanuary £214.42/£300.00

Hi Everyone,
Can I please join this challenge and be put down for £150 Grocery spend for Feb. This will be a challenge as I'm moving into a house of my own with my 4yo daughter so I don't know yet what I would usually spend on food shopping so I suppose Feb is a bit of a trial and error start!
Also, can anyone tell me what Mr T's is?
Thanks and Good Luck

Hello All:wave:
My February budget started on my payday of 20th Jan and will run up to and including the 21st Feb. I am currently sitting at £246.74, £36 of which was stocking up on nappies at Costc0, should last me 3 months I hope. My cupboards and freezers are groaning.
This week's spends came to £91.77 which is less than it has been per week over the last couple of months, but it is still too high. I am just buying too much every week. I do waste some fresh stuff but not much really. I just buy too much of everything; freezer food, treats, you name it especially when, like this week, I didn't meal plan and added more than what was on my list. Schoolgirl errors:o
We are eating lots more fruit and veg and I am spending a bit more on food to take to work to ensure I eat as I have been so busy I haven't eaten enough and have lost weight. There's not much of me to begin with:eek:
I have £150 left and 3 Friday 'shops'. This month is really tight for us and I could really do with only spending £100 of that £150.
DH nipped to Mr T tonight on his way home from work for some mint sauce to go with dinner. I am dead chuffed and he was dead pleased with himself as he bought the discount brand and didn't buy anything else. He said 'are you going to tell the people on the forum about it' I said 'yes I am':D:rotfl::rotfl:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Thanks for starting the new thread. Last month was my first proper go at this challenge, and my how it focused my mind..:money:Thanks for picking up my challenge amount from the last thread.
I doubt I'll be able to keep up with the postings again as this thread moves so incredibly fast, but I wish everyone well in their endeavours, and will post how I do. I will be shopping once a week only with as short a list as possible. I can already feel the pain :rotfl:
I also hope to make use of the recipe suggestions at the beginning of the thread.
Good luck everyone. :T

Good news - well kind of. In my Ocado shop (delivered Sunday and full of special offers - my sis had a 25% off code and delivery on a Sunday was only 99p) one of my joints of beef had a great big hole in the plastic front!!! So I emailed them and they have refunded the cost (£6 and pennies) so my total has gone down overnight!
What are peoples views on using the beef? I guess it wasn't like that when it was picked and packed (must have happened in the van) and the bag it was in wasn't torn.... should I chuck it???
I wouldn't dream of chucking it. If it looks Ok and smells OK I would wash it with running cold water and cook it. I probably would do it well done rather than rare but I can't think of a good reason for that.0 -
Evening all.
Feb GC started for me today as it is payday.
Already spent £6.98 and its not even Feb yet. Went to get bunny some treats and whilst picking them up, bought some bird seed and a couple of other bits i needed. All have been crossed off the shopping list. Was chuffed that everything i bought was on the list. In the past would easily have spent £20 on 'stuff'.
Thanks to the peeps that oversee the thread and to everyone that posts recipes, deals etc. :T
Good luck everyone. :j
