Budgets noted to post 195 - I'll update the front page later

I was having a little think [DH says thats always dangerous lol] I have to write down everyones name and then their budget and then go to my first post and change/add everyone on, the writing part takes ages!! so I was trying to think how to make it quicker/easier and the only way I could come up with is to give everyone a number instead of your name i.e. Helenjelly £250 would change to 75 £250 - saves lots of time when I'm writing loads of names down - can anyone see any probs with that or is it a carp way of doing it or if you prefer to keep your name then that is soo ok with me

    Thanks

    Helen x

Would be quite happy to have a number Helen, anything that makes it a bit easier for you, its quite a task you took on, and I am sure we are all very grateful and want it to be as easy as poss for you.

HelenJelly - happy to have a number if it helps

First of the month and first spends, Amazon for stupidly cheap yeast (on back order) but they also have 24 cans of branston beans for £6

Nothing overly exciting in the co-ops new offers so just got some RTC bits.

Can you not have the list window open in one window tab and the thread changes in another? Copy the name you want to change then press cntrl f to search for the name in the list and edit? Although doing it with numbers may well be easier in the long run.

I quite often do this now - I used to be sitting with bits of paper with names/comments that I wanted to say something about on the Frugal Living thread last year.

I now have one tab opened with my "post reply" bit in and the thread open in another - I can then add comments to the reply as I move through the thread. HTH :)

Numbers are fine with me as well, whatever makes your life easier!

I had a spend today: 4pts organic milk for 63p, I am going to make some yogurt with some of it I think. Some lambs liver for tomorrows dinner, a big piece of chorizo for cooking (reduced) and a bag of chips for tea that only cost me 40p as I had a voucher! Then I went to the veggie stall in the town market and got two of their "scoop specials" for a pound each. One had half a dozen huge mushrooms (will be yummy baked with a little olive oil, crushed garlic and a grating of parmesan!) and the other one had a savoy cabbage, 3 parsnips and a head of broccoli.

I can see me going over budget this month unless I reign in my spending!:o

Hello!! Just been catching up - I don't mind being a number if it makes it easier - whatever works for you because it must be a time consuming task. Just let us know what our numbers are if thats what you decide!!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!
  • Yes, also happy to be a number, I so appreciate what you do Helenjelly! Had to spend 99p today as I didn't have enough lunch and felt dizzy in a hot shop. Just went to the 99p store and got 10 packets of cheddar biscuits so that will last me a while if left at work. Keep doing that, taking not enough food to work, would have been another NSD so felt quite gutted but also didn't want to embarrass myself by keeling over!
